It was attention-getting when John Boehner referred to Ted Cruz last week as “Lucifer in the flesh” (and surely that was the point), but it’s hardly breaking news that Cruz is unpopular among his colleagues in Washington. The political and chattering classes often cite this as a reason he is not fit for the presidency, although for many of us it’s far from clear that this is actually a mark against him.
And give Cruz credit: He doesn’t grovel or squirm when people aim stuff like this at him. Instead, he stands up and tells you in no uncertain terms why people don’t like him. And in the case of John Boehner, he also clues us in on some new information: He and Boehner hardly ever met each other, so any personal dislike on Boehner’s part was certainly not based on real direct knowledge or experience:
Having Boehner hate you is a point in your favor.
If Boehner likes you, there is something wrong with you.
To the wicked, nothing is more dangerous than an honest and upright man.
How does that explain Boner hating Lyin’ Ted?
Yeah, that’s why he was employed by the Weeper.
I think the extreme nature of Boehner’s invective made it clear his comments were personal not political.

Not according to some FReepers- They refer to Boehner as a "prominent politician" who Ted Cruz has maligned.
They refer to McConnell in a similar way.
But I agree with you-Boehner or McConnell , not liking Cruz does add to Cruz's credibility.
He wasn’t. He was a junior attorney that worked for the firm that did represent the “ball baby”. I think he did do some research for the attorney that did represent sniffles but was not assigned to the case as a beginning attorney, early in his career.

Ted is known as a backstabber on the hill. He makes an agreement, then stabs you in the back. Judith Miller, while on the Steve Mahlzberg show, alluded that this is the untold story that the media has not taken on about Cruz being so unlikeable. Where there is smoke , there is usually some fire.

Boehner caught Cruz on the floor of the Senate stabbing little dolls dressed up like him, McConnell and Donald Trump just before he resigned.
