The chip is just a different way of storing information; the previous card did the same thing with the magnetic strip. If that wasn't the "mark of the beast", then this new card isn't, either.
Now, similar chips implanted under your skin for ID purposes? Yes, worry about those, should they ever gain wide acceptance.

It depends on the card number. Some of the older card sequences are susceptible to an exploit.
Give me the card number and then the 3 digits on the back and I can tell you if it is one of the older ones or one of the newer ones.
