Thanks to the so-called rigged rules of the Republican Partys presidential primary process, Donald Trump won 95% of New York states convention delegates Tuesday with only 60% of the votes.
The political newcomer has been complaining about his well-organized main challenger, Ted Cruz, collecting delegates out of proportion to voter support, according to each states sometimes arcane selection rules, all of which were written and published last October.
But Tuesday night Trump was not complaining.
With the big Empire State victory, his first involving a voter majority, the real estate billionaire added about 90 new delegates to his total. That puts him about 400 shy of the 1,237 majority needed to capture the GOP nomination and lead the party of Abraham Lincoln into the November general election.
John Kasich finished second with about 25% of the votes and will add perhaps three delegates to his total of 144. Cruz, who was already campaigning in Pennsylvania for next Tuesdays primary, received only about 15% of the New York vote. Thats shy of the 20% threshold, so he took zero delegates out of New York.

No, they're just posting snarky sour grapes articles about it.
Ridiculous petulance when the winner wins all but one district by ten or more points. The voters did actually decide this one
I’m not so sure. People are more involved. Yes, they complain on how the process works. However, they are getting involved. For quite awhile now, people have take voting for granted. I think the last 7+ years have shown the conservative people that there is something better. But we need to get involved and not ‘hope’ that everything will turn out okay.
They’re complaining, that’s not the same as getting involved. You see this all the time on the Dem side, every time there’s a contested primary over there they complain about super delegates, and then the next time there’s a contested convention there’s a higher percentage of super delegates than before. 4 to 8 years from now (depending on what happens in November), there will still be the state conventions and the disconnect between the vote and the actual assignment of delegates.
Cruz votes in TX: 1,200,000
Trump votes in NY: 320,000
Trump couldn’t even get half as many primary votes as the LOSING Dem did in their primary. In the general he’d lose his home state by large margins.
The delegates were assigned based on votes. I don’t get why Cruz and his supporters have an issue with representative govt. You know of the people, by the people for the people and that nonsense.
