I’ll set aside all the “Cruz is corrupt” narrative. My issues with Trump are: a) is he electable and b) how will he govern.
Gallup has Mr. Trump at 70% unfavorable among female voters. Women are the largest single voting block and they consistently turn out and vote. How will Mr. Trump overcome this obstacle?
We cannot review Mr. Trumps voting record since he’s a successful businessman - not a politician (a good thing). However his position on ethanol just prior to the Iowa vote is instructive. Ethanol is a classic, crony capitalist, big government, environmental weenie, boondoggle. After losing his lead in Iowa polls to Dr. Carson, Mr. Trump read a position paper to EXPAND ethanol subsidies in a Trump administration. If Donald Trump is a limited government conservative, why would he cut a deal on ethanol subsidies in exchange for the endorsements from Iowa’s GOP elite?
Polls, polls, polls, I am trying to get over the Jeb victory by 65%.
