Thumbing their noses
If youve been watching the news over the course of the last 24-48 hours, youve no doubt seen the reports about Russian SU-24 attack planes buzzing the USS Donald Cook (DDG-75). This happened first on Monday, then again on Tuesday. At least one of the so-called simulated attacks saw the Russian fighters fly just 30 feet above the ship.
If you havent seen the footage, here you go:
The question is: Why would Putin do this?
The answer is: Because he can.
Used to be common when the USSR was still intact. They buzzed us plenty of times in the North Atlantic.
No longer feared by our enemies, no longer trusted by our friends. Gotta love fundamental transformation, huh?
It’s as simple as that.
A weak American President invites aggression. Right, wrong, that’s the way of the world.
Because LAME DUCK OBAMA is a puss. What do I win?
In all fairness, what would any other president have done? This is an age-old game of cat and mouse.
Yep the Russians are counting coup on us just like the Indians did. They know they will not be fired on.
Lets see if they continue these antics after Trump takes office. :-)
Hypothetical President Trump response: #StopItPutin or else I’ll build a terrific wall!
I’m sure the threat of the American transgender forces scare the crap out of the Russians.

What’s the “hypothetical” President Cruz response?
“In all fairness, what would any other president have done?”
1. Do not stop the exercise
2. Lock a missile radar onto the plane
What is it about the USS Donald Cook? They got buzzed the last time they were in the region.
Since you mention President Trump...
I think they’re doing this now because they know that once The Donald becomes CIC, the game’s over - the world will once again be faced with a White House that means business.
This is a non-story. Pilots do this shit all the time. I speak from experience, just retired after 24 years as an Army aviator (UH60 Blackhawks mostly). The Russians face less consequences, simple as that.
US pilots can get in some deep shit for hotdogging. Doesn’t mean we always followed the rules, but you really had to pick your spots.
Its just Putin telling the squishy, globalist-progressive Obama that if you want to pretend to be the Nobel Peace Prize saint, while using proxies to muck-around in Russia’s perceived sphere-of-influencei in Georgia, Ukraine, Syria - then he will tweak your nose and embarrass you.
Yesterday he was all over this with multiple stories/links.
All the those links have been removed.
I’m sure it had nothing to do with NATO playing in the Bering Sea.
"Negative, Gulagrider, the pattern is full."
