If Bernie Sanders becomes president, America's fracking boom will be in danger.
This week the Democratic presidential candidate called for a national ban on fracking, the controversial drilling technology that has not only led to a massive boom in oil and natural gas, created thousands of new jobs but also been linked to water contamination and even earthquakes.
"If we are serious about combating climate change, we need to put an end to fracking, not only in New York and Vermont, but all over this country," Sanders said during a speech in Binghamton, New York this week.
The anti-fracking crusade marks an escalation for Sanders, who previously introduced legislation to ban fracking on federal lands. It also pressures his rival, Hillary Clinton, to endorse a fracking ban, which is something Vermont and New York have already done....

2ndDivisionVet, are you paid to spam this board for Cruz?
Serious question, please respond for people to know what your role is in the Cruz campaign.
Do you receive any payment. You are certainly I think, acting very strange this campaign.
I have seen reports you are a paid person for the Cruz campaign now.
Is that true?
If I was a female I’d describe you as a stalker. Do you have an obsession with me?
Just answer the question please.
Are you a policeman or an agent of the site owner?
The fracking boom has been over for a while. We got in early and got out early.
That being said, U.S. fracking and U.S. oil production are among the cheapest and safest in the world. They will come back and Americans benefit when we exploit our ingenuity and resources vs. supporting foreign interests.
America vs. Terrorists; Conservation vs. destruction. IMO. But my peers are too stupid to know the difference.
Still waiting.
You’re saying a bunch of nonsense, but not answering the question.
Are you paid to post pro-Cruz stuff on this board?
Dexter,,,, hate to be the bearer of bad news but there are companies still fracking though depleting.
A Bernie Sanders presidency would be good news for the Saudis.
The shut down of the U.S. fracking industry would cause an increase in the demand for Saudi oil.
Imagine....the Saudis are probably rooting for a Jewish guy to be president. Politics (and money) do indeed make strange bedfellows.
For someone who has less than two months membership on this forum , I believe that you have Brass Baiis calling his integrity into question.
Are you the paid whore$ of whomever ?
Without the boom in horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing, Natural Gas would likely be 3X the price it is now--which means people have to burn less fuel per BTU to earn the money to pay for it, and use less fuel to make that money. As another plus, oil that is easier to refine into motor fuels, that doesn't have to be shipped to our shores has been found as well. Which enables people to drive with a reduced carbon footprint, because the shipping consumes less energy (and would consume even less if some pipelines were built).
So, of all the things done in the last 50 years by the Oil and Gas industry, hydraulic fracturing has proven to be one of the most environmentally FRIENDLY.
I guess some people just don't want to play nice.
Otherwise, Bern, we'll eventually be back to huddling in rock shelters burning animal dung, that black rock that burns, and mummified Socialists for warmth.
I have already revealed that information. Go look for it and report back here.
Are you paid to hijack threads of Free Republic for the purpose of harassing Cruz supporters, even when the topic is Bernie Sanders and energy security?
I am ex-LEO, and this is a news and opinion forum site , where all opinions are respected , even yours !
My question to you , even though your home page indicates you are in Cambodia, are you a paid $whore$ ?
2nd Division vet doesn't have to answer your absurd question, based upon his longevity in providing newsworthy information ,.. but you are !
So , ..are you are paid whore ?.. from Commie Cambodia ?
I won’t search all of your posts, you have a large number of them.
I also won’t continue to badger you about the question.
Don’t get me wrong, I support you on this board, I think you know that is true. Even though we are in disagreement about Cruz - who is it seems to me deliberately throwing the election to the democrats.
But you won’t answer my question.
That seems very odd.
Look I was just following up on the same question, which I asked 2ndDivisionVet on his previous thread, and he didn’t answer me there either.
He gave me a non-answer.
I am now a bit suspicious. But I won’t continue to badger him. :D
Do we?
