Thanks, it hard for me to view Vietnam film.
Considering that Cronkite spent most of his time undermining the military in VN, I consider him one of our primary reasons for giving up, especially when we were winning.

I recall watching a documentary that had the early newscasts of the war about the Ia Drang Valley battle. Some now-famous reporter said something like “Although the battle was declared an American victory, it remains to be seen how long the fathers and mothers will commit their sons to this war as the number of dead rises.”
This after the first major battle!
