Fields has managed to get Lewandowski charged with misdemeanor battery, which under the law is simply an "unwanted touching." The charge is usually leveled when someone commits a fairly-egregious act of "touching" (like punching you) but does not cause great injury in doing so. That is, while the letter of the law may be met here the clear intent is most-definitely not.
Never mind the better question: who was initiating the touching?
Second, there is apparently a member of Trump's Secret Service detail that has confirmed that Fields touched Trump twice before Lewandowski intervened and Fields was warned to stop doing so, which she ignored.
Further, the video I've seen doesn't clearly support the charge and the alleged "bruises" are in the wrong place to have been caused by any contact that could have occurred in said video.
Finally, Fields claims she was "tightly grabbed" and "yanked down", with the explicit claim that Lewandowski attempted to "forcefully throw reporters to the ground."
From the video evidence that very clearly did not occur.
In other words the allegation was a lie.
What is the penalty for filing a false police report? This sort of "touching" happens every time you're in line at a stadium or get on a subway car. As I said when this story first broke and other video was available there was simply no evidence to support the original claim, and now that we have an overhead view my perspective on same has only been strengthened and major media personalities are coming out of the woodwork to agree.
I can’t believe anyone other than those dying to “take Trump down” believe this was battery! This will only HELP Trump! The Media still does not get it.

Anybody with a brain knows Fields LIED and got caught. The scoundrel entered the safe zone of a secret service protected candidate and touched him, after she had been warned twice. The broad could have been isis with a wig.
One thing we know now for sure, Lewandowski lied about never touching Fields, Trump's own video proves it!

This “damning” video was released BY THE POLICE (not by the Trump organization from whom it was certainly obtained by subpoena). I’m pretty sure this revealing video would never had seen the light of day if the Trump folks had their way.
There was a .gif posted a few days ago that was from just a few feet away and it showed the “incident” more clearly than anything else I’ve seen so far. And it showed this whole thing is total BS. She wasn’t yanked at all. She stepped back and Lewandowski passed by her.
I wish I could remember which thread it was posted on. Drat.
Don’t forget that the statute requires that the unwanted touching must be intentional....a crowded subway doesn’t qualify.
If this doesn’t go away, I’d love to see Trump file two counts of misdemeanor battery against her and call the secret service agent to testify.
But I expect the news cycle to just move along, like with Ted’s cowardly refusal to answer directly those specific cheating questions.

Police report was the complaint filed by fields It was then catagorized and sent on its way. No investigation is done until it comes before court.
More than likely the judge will be presented the evidence in chambers and make a decision. Evidence will include the video , statement by s USSS agent, her complaint , statement by Corey and possibly her history of filing false other reports. Charges against her besides filing false report may include touching Trump, failure to obey a federal officer, interfering with a security detail and anything else the Feds might want to use to make an example of her
