A disgusting article at the National Enquirer claims Ted Cruz cheated on his wife, which evidently spawned the hashtag #CruzSexScandal. The allegations, of course, are fake. And this author will eat her car if proven wrong. That is a promise.
On Facebook, Donald Trump responded to the fake story by saying he did not read it, and in his typical statesman-like manner continued:
“Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence.”
Not surprisingly, National Enquirer CEO David Pecker is described as a close personal friend of Trump. See this excerpt from NYMag last year:
“Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. ‘Theyre very close,’ said a source close to the Enquirer. In July 2013, Trump even tweeted that Pecker should become CEO of Time magazine, which at the time was being spun off from its corporate parent, Time Warner. ‘Hed make it exciting and win awards!'”
Here is the Donald’s tweet from 2013:
.@TIME Magazine should definitely pick David Pecker to run things over there – he’d make it exciting and win awards!

Donald Trump was not finished bashing Ted Cruz, however, implying that the story was true, since the tabloid was “right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others…”
I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or…

This vile political game appears to be a bridge to far even for Trump supporter Michael Savage, who threatened to withdraw his support from Trump lest he disavows the story and David Pecker.
Listen to Savage discuss his disdain for the tactic at the Right Scoop.
IT GETS WORSE:
Washington Times reporter that supposedly confirms Ted Cruz had affairs was himself previously fired for altering newspaper headlines w/o authorization
ALSO
This fired Washington Times writer told people last month NOT to vote for Cruz in Texas. He said he was a Rubio supporter. Totally biased source!
Dear Texas- Dont vote for #Cruz. If he loses TX, he gets out & #Rubio has a head-to-head with #Trump. Thats the only way Trump could lose. Drew Johnson (@Drews_Views) February 26, 2016

Whatever happened to Drew Johnson?
Now that a few months have passed and you've had some time to reflect on your departure from the Times Free Press, do you wish that you had done anything differently?
I wouldnt have done a thing differently. I was fired for doing exactly what I was hired to do: writing in a way that promoted free markets, individual liberty and limited government. The paper invented some silly story about me being fired for the headline of the Obama jobs speech piece, which was a funny little take off of the country song "Take This Job and Shove It," but thats not the reality. I was told that, as the editor, I had final say over what went on that page, so the headline wasnt the problem.
There were a few issues at play. First and foremost, some of the liberal higher-ups at the paper thought it was our obligation as a city to pucker up and kiss Obamas rear since he was in town. Those people were embarrassed that I used the opportunity to criticize his policy failures. That was the biggest reason I was canned.
Second, a lot of people at the paper have a vision that the Free Press opinion page should be a voice of religion and social conservatism, but I am an economist and policy wonk, not a preacher. When I was hired, I was told that the reason they wanted me was because I am more libertarian, and they believed what I wrote would be more reflective of where the conservative movement and the Republican Party were heading. After I was hired, though, it became apparent that the paper would rather have some snake-handling preacher writing anachronistic, offensive, dopey editorials about how gay folks will burn in hell and marijuana is Satans way into people's souls.
Finally, the paper got a lot of pushback when I criticized EPB, the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority, the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and other shady agencies around town that dont act in the publics best interest and arent held accountable. When I explained how EPB scammed taxpayers out of hundreds of millions of dollars for the smart grid but was never able to effectively provide the gig and failed to generate any economic benefit from all the money that was spent, EPB pulled its ads from the paper.
I know the paper was frustrated with losing money because I was willing to speak the truth about bad actors in the community. Its too bad because there is no effective watchdog of those agencies in Chattanooga now. The TV news stations in town will never say anything bad about EPB, the airport authority and other outfits that advertise with them because they dont want to risk losing ad dollars.
Ultimately, all three issues played a part in my firing. The headline played no part at all.
How is this Trump’s fault if it’s Rubio’s people spreading this?
Since Rubio’s camp leaked the info to NE, I will be expecting an apology from Ted to Donald any minute now...
...well not any minute, I’m sure he’s getting quite the earful from Heidi. I hope the kids aren’t in the kitchen.
Prove Donald Trump had anything to do with this.

The Washington Times (aka The Moonie Times) is Washington, D.C.s newspaper which perpetually plays second fiddle to the Washington Post. The Times has lost money ever since its inception in 1982 until 2015, in which it finally became profitable.[1]
Started Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon, the Church has pumped over $1.7 billion into the paper to keep it afloat.[2] Although much of the early Times staff came from the defunct Washington Star, the papers board of directors was made up of members of the Unification Church, with the staff undergoes occasional purges, resignations, and faction fights over the direction of the paper.[3] No less an authority than the Rev. Moon himself has proclaimed the Times a gift to America to thank the U.S. for fighting Communism in Korea, or something like that.[4] In 2002 Rev. Moon outdid himself by proclaiming he established the Times in response to heavens direction and that The Washington Times will become the instrument in spreading the truth about God to the world.[5]

This so distorted on Michael Savage as to be laughable. I listened to Michael today. He opened his show about his concerns and urging Trump to denounce the allegations.
A few minutes Michael learned that Donald Trump had published a response that effectively denied any connection with the National Enquirer story and he was relieved.
A copy of the show will available for replay here soon:

you have to get that to the papers!
Trump has to create #CruzSexScandal to avoid having an actual debate with Cruz. #TrumpLovesPecker
Michael Savage will do ANYTHING AT ALL to somehow keep his name in the headlines. It’s ridiculous.
He had Trump on his show and actually asked for a position in Trump’s cabinet —he wasn’t kidding.
It’s so pushy it’s embarrassing.
And now THIS.
His son and wife are SOOOOOOO much better than him, it astonishes me they’re related.
