“Actually, he doesn’t even need to be ahead of Trump - he just needs to make sure Trump doesn’t have enough delegates to win on the first ballot”
Bingo! And that is now, Ted’s now most important job.
Make sure that the winning opponent, one who has earned millions of more votes than anyone else and earned the overwhelming majority of states’ delegations does not win!!!
Cruz, What a guy, eh!
They aren’t flailing.
Beck the Knife, and oily Felito the mouthpiece of Bill Ayers, now THOSE guys are flailing.
Perhaps Lindsey Graham will be able to lend credibility to the effort.

You said, “Show us! No brag, just fact.” How was I bragging? Stating facts about the convention rules is not a brag. I didn’t make or fake the FL rules.
Unhappy w Florida, Blame Jeb! This rule was crafted to prevent the FL splitter-candidate, Marco, from taking a 2nd or 3rd stab at Jeb.
And, I pasted -verbatim from the website that began this thread. You could go there, too. I posted this thread to share unbiased information with current data. Below the overall results on the main page are all the individual state pages. Republican Convention - FL.

In all likelihood it won’t go to a second ballot because Rule 40 keeps anyone besides Cruz or Trump from being placed in nomination. When there are only two candidates, one has to win a majority.
If Trump has less than a majority of the delegates, the question is will the unpledged delegates move over to him (he wins), or split (he wins), or go overwhelmingly to Cruz (Cruz wins).
So this one guy just pulled that out of his @ss. Sure, right. Cruz will win noting.
Cruz is part of the GOPe plan to steal the nomination from Trump and the Country from us Americans.
You may be new but you’re right
But the real question is why are so many people publicly stating he has a chance when they know he doesn’t
Nearly the entire Republican and Conservative political and media establishment
It’s insulting and once again demonstrates they view us as stupid but essential
Mr Valentine?

You’re a hoot
Feel free.....I do it ....so I can read what I’m writing
You’re good a this
Where you been since 97?
Agree, Rule 40, requires a majority (not plurality) win of 8 state delegations. At the moment, Trump has secured 11 or 12? Cruz has 4. He would need 4 more to be presented on the first ballot. And it does not matter how many popular votes or state pluralities have been won.
Exactly. And, if Cruz lets his ego split the anti-establishment and lets the GOPe steal the nomination, he is politically dead to me.
He will be a young, has-been who put himself first.
Well said. And welcome to FR.
Why are they lying and pretending there is a road or path to victory?
Because they are spinning the truth; they think we are illiterates.
The delegate counts are so important. I think GreenPapers is very accurate. When the Missouri vote was within the margin of error, they erased the original counts pending future updates from the SOS. Now they are back, up and Trump has 696 confirmed delegates.
I have noticed that news websites are very slow to accurately update the delegate counts by as much as 24-36 hours. They sway it to their desired outcome for as long as they can. Some were very quick to call races in Ohio, but painfully slow in the others. You can’t trust them, Lots of monkey business happening behind the scenes. I do not trust them and rarely watch TV.
There are some peculiar voting patterns that just don’t add up without an outside hand. It needs to stop.
No...he runs the world
“Heres an interesting old topic from nearly 20 years ago on FR: https://web.archive.org/web/19980419141020/http://freerepublic.com/forum/t1000430.htm"
Fascinating. When you posted that thread, my wife and I had just bought our first house, were expecting our second baby, and had just risked everything to start our own small business.
Today we’re in our third house, baby girl is now 18, and the business is (once again) rocking :-)
“I was kind of bummed when they changed from the old to the new because I wasnt able to change over from my old name”
Sorry I missed your reply. It’s gotten so busy around here that posts are getting buried before I can find them.
I think my first look at FR was somewhere around 98 or 99. I used to be a member of a biker forum and some members would link back to posts made here.
I honestly didn’t really ‘get’ FR until around the time of GWB’s re-election campaign. That’s when I became intensely driven to find high information news and commentary sources online. FR was, by far, the best source I knew of, so I wound up lurking here for a good while.
By that time the layout of the place had morphed into what it is today, so it’s comfy to me.
Thanks!
Thanks wardaddy,
I have looked in from time to time.
I found FR in 2003 when researching here:
