Phrase from the article, bears repeating:
Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels: 'Whoever conquers the streets, conquers the state.'
I hadn't heard this particular Goebbels quote, but it is an important one, well understood by the Nazis and the Bolsheviks.

When the chips are down, you find out who your friends really are. The GOPe has failed the test — once again. It folds like the house of cards it is.
To: jimmyray
You are correct. Previous highjackings had shown that the best chance of survival lay in cooperation, so the passengers’ cooperation was rooted in pragmatism, not political correctness.
As for United 93, I recall hearing that the passengers had learned what happened to the other highjacked planes, so they were faced with the certainty of death unless they did something. I respect their bravery, but I think it was motivated by desperation rather than patriotism.

International business wants and domestic politics do not coexist very well. Multi national business gloBULList Cheap Labor Express types shouldn’t have place in any political party. The corruption factor is way too high. They should exist outside the political sphere and stay in the economic realm exclusivity.

I would never begin to judge someone in their last minutes when they know absolutely they will die a horrific death. I think it is absurd to parse whether it was patriotism or desperation. I would not wish that scenario on my worst enemy. It is easy to be an armchair hero. I cannot fathom the horror they went thru.

Interesting article, but I completely disagree with the above. Passengers cooperated because previous highjackings resulted in detours, inconvenient delays and eventual release, if you cooperate and don't try to be a hero. The thought that the hijacker's intention was to fly into buildings never occurred to them. As a peasant, you could be prosecuted for interfering with a hijacking.

‘Otherwise, he was insanely lucky.’
I think he simply adopted an overall strategy. Bring on the flak, and if you survive then you become the leader, the battleship which everyone rallies to [other than partizan faithfuls].

English lawn enforcement uses ear recognition software. It’s as good as a finerprint and more useful in this digital age.
And people who cover their ears all the time help ‘out’ themselves.

Some considered that dangerous even before 9-11.

‘I personally dont believe that the GOP can ever be reformed.’
The root problem is that there’s not enough ‘starboard’ in the port-veering education system.

One of the best compliments this year!
Means a lot.
I’ve noticed that other people who work a lot harder than me receive scant praise. But I bet you comliment them too now and then.

I agree. Wanted to study the pre-power Nazis a little after Glenn Beck started ranting. Here's the sourcing ... https://books.google.com/books?isbn=9089644261 Carolyn Birdsall Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels affirmed this central tenet of the Nazis' so-called ... conviction that 'whoever conquers the streets, conquers the state' ... Here's another fuller quote: The Illustrated History of the Nazis - Google Books Result https://books.google.com/books?isbn=1848587945 Paul Roland - 2010 - History 'WHOEVER CONQUERS THE STREETS, CONQUERS THE MASSES AND WHOEVER CONQUERS THE MASSES, CONQUERS THE STATE.' Nazi maxim ... [More accurate than my garbled quote above I think. Best referred to as a 'nazi maxim'.]
