Growing up in Flint during the 50’s and 60’s I was always a little jealous of GR. I left Flint for TampaBay in 1974, little did I know how things would evolve for those two Michigan cities.

Outside of our goofy city government, and refugees from Chicago, it is a wonderful place to live.

A good deal of what got us over the hump were the generosity of the DeVos and VanAndel (of Amway) families, as well as the Meijers and others, that have poured billions into this town in terms of construction and financing of other people’s projects. The libs despise them for it, but I dont see any of them leaving.

I just hope the leftists here dont completely take the place over and nose-dive all of the progress. Goodness knows they are trying.
