Erick Erickson's Values Argument Against Donald Trump
Politics as Unusual ^ | 3-5-2016 | Otto Lampis

Posted on 03/05/2016 10:17:54 AM PST by Brookhaven

Last week, I listened to Erick Erickson state that he could not vote for Donald Trump, because it would be a betrayal of his values. The radio host asked him that if it came down to a choice between Hillary Clinton and Trump, would he not prefer Trump?

No, replied Mr. Erickson, who again stated that supporting Trump would be a betrayal of his values. The host was a bit taken aback, and tried to reason with Erickson. Surely, he didn't mean that he would prefer Hillary to Trump.

Yes, Erickson bluntly said, he would prefer Hillary as president. He would not support Trump under any circumstances, because being true to his values was paramount.

I am thankful the host continued to question and push Mr. Erickson on his position, forcing him to take it to its logical conclusion: he would prefer to see Hillary as president rather than Trump. Erickson's actual values were revealed.

Hillary Clinton stood next to the casket of an American soldier and lied to his parents' face for pure political gain.

That--THAT--is in line with your values? Apparently so. When standing by your "values" means you are OK with that, then you have lost the moral high ground.

Arguments (including spirited arguments) about the Republican nomination are fine; this isn't a game after all, it is serious business. But, when Erick Erickson (and the rest of the #NeverTrump crowd) says that they would prefer Hillary to Trump, they gone too far. Hillary Clinton is unacceptable as president--period. If that's not a point you can agree on, then don't lecture on values, because you have none.

Erik is an idiot. Hillary is the most corrupt betrayer of Christian values that one could imagine.

These “Conservatives” have done NOTHING, they have given Obama everything he wanted, they even cut a deal to drop the ban on after 20 weeks abortion, so they could get more breaks for their Donor Class. They are nothing but Traitors..

Ericsson just used the conservative mantra in order to make a better than average income. But, this just goes to show he has no values that matter.

I’ll say one thing for the Donald.

He’s managed to unite “conservatives” and RINOs.

Very impressive.

I do not trust Trump politically, nor do I like him as a person, and so I have not decided yet if I will can vote for him in the general. It depends on how he conducts his general election campaign. He can begin proving to me that he is not a liberal establishment fraud by choosing a conservative outsider as a running mate.

I felt the same way when Mitt won the primary, A BETRAYAL OF MY VALUES. I held my nose anyway and voted for him because Obama was worst.

“I do not trust Trump politically, nor do I like him as a person, and so I have not decided yet if I will can vote for him in the general.”

Given a choice between Trump and Hillary, I’ll be voting for Trump.

I don’t trust Trump, but I know he’s going to be better than Hillary.

Trump loves to make a good deal. Trump will not give Democrats something without getting something in return.

We need effectively permanent tax/fee/fine caps in the Constitution.

I don’t dispute the “values” argument when it comes to everyday, John Q. Public people. It is a difficult decision if you’re a conservative (although who makes the definition, after all?)That being said, I do NOT believe, for one NY second (pardon the pun) that the whiners in the “conservative” media, beltway and elites mean this for one second. They are on the brink of losing their power and are simply mad and incredulous that the “people” will not follow their direction because they are so smart and we are so....well...stupid. They are condescending in their platitudes of “understanding” we’re mad and then trot out failures like Romney, et al, to tell us how wrong we are. I really think it is easier to be in the minority and complain about everything that is wrong and keep asking for more money for the “conservative cause” to fight Obama, Hillary, etc., etc. than it is to actually win, be in charge and drive the policy car. I don’t believe they care on little bit about that, they just want the gravy train to continue and the lemmings to follow their lead. And now that the scam has been exposed, they are afraid. The problem is, as the fear grows, so does the desperation...

Ben Shapiro just said:

“Am I willing to risk a Hillary presidency not to vote for Trump? The answer is yes.”

The #NeverTrump gang is the #HillaryIsFine gang.
