Trump has said two pretty scary things in the last two days.
One of them was the one you mentioned saying if he tells the generals something, they’ll do it. My thought was “what if you tell them you’re not leaving office after eight years?”
The other was saying if Paul Ryan didn’t get along with him Ryan would have to pay a big price. Trump seems to have very little concept of the American system of government. If he is President he will not call his minister in to do his bidding. The congress is a co-equal part of the government. The President doesn’t order the Speaker of the House around.
Yet THIS Speaker, as with the Orange Lush Weeping Boner who preceded him, have been peachy keen on serving as Zero’s toadying weasels.
He has NO idea how the Government works. He says things that he will do that are utterly impossible to do. What’s he going to do ... pull in his Mafia friends?
He knows what he has seen Obama get away with and he will do it too. Like two wrongs make a right. I don’t want a Republican dictator any more than I want a Democrat dictator.

Relax. He has guys like Sessions to cool his jets of enthusiasm. He said he respects generals like Patton and MacArthur.
The military have a long history of following orders unless the orders are illegal. That will not change. But Trump can change what is legal. Once some new rules of engagement are installed the military will have additional options (still within the bounds of the legal). And Trump is right, they will follow them.

Oooooh scary! Ridiculous. Somehow I don't think that Donald Trump is going to create a Constitutional crisis based on the 22nd Amendment! Generals who aren't traitors obey their commander in chief; those that don't eventually get "relieved of duty", to say the least.

Yes Congress is, you’re right, but the military is not. As Commander in Chief, wouldn’t it be perfectly appropriate and normal for Trump to work out with his “generals” which interrogation techniques are truly in the best interests of our nation, not the terrorists?
