VANITY: IMO, Trump's line of the night was "Believe me, they will do what I tell them...believe me."

The country is craving a TRUE LEADER that will return absolute power & strength to America and "deep-six" this PC nonsense, especially in our foreign policy. No more "deballed" leadership now that DJT is in town. Therefore, I thought his line of the night in this debate was "Believe me...they will do what I tell them...believe me"(!) emphasis added

How different is this from the current occupant? How many high ranking officers has he sacked probably for not doing/acting as he has told them?

Seig heil, mein Fuhrer! Vee vill obey your every vord.

If you seriously believe that Donald hit it out of the park with that one, you are a sick puppy.

Ted’s booger was less cringe inducing.

As a former infantry soldier, I was disgusted by his line. I’ve seen officers with his attitude. They were the worst officers by far.

Yes. Disagree. A leader does not say “they will do what I tell them.” A leader says, “I will lead in such a way that they want to do what is needed of them.”

Leadership 101. He’s no leader.

They all have their rhetorical crutches. Cruz says "and by the way" so many times that I sometimes lose track of the point. Rubio just repeats himself repeats himself.

The closest to a real conservative is not running...He endorsed Trump, though...That is Jeff Sessions of Alabama...
ruz is close to a conservative, but things have come out about him that cause pause...Besides, I don’t think he can beat Hillary...

IMO, if Trump is not the nominee, Hillary will win the general election...

The “law” you speak of was an “Executive Order” of Obama’s...He wrote the order to stop waterboarding...

Cruz also starts sentences with, “Well, look...” a lot.

“...and by the way” is popular, too.

I think both of these “rhetorical crutches” are vestiges from his speech and debate experience. He should try to avoid them.

What I’m saying is that Trump’s use of “Believe me...” tells me to expect either a lie or some form of self-convincing gymnastics.

I actually dislike the way Cruz starts with “Well, look...” because it sounds condescending. Further, I think a lot of people view Cruz as arrogant and it turns them away from him.

In person, he’s actually pretty easy to be around and very personable.

Just sayin’.

How else was Trump supposed to answer that kind of smear?

1. Well, yeah, of course, that is always a possibility.

2. Well, I would hope they would obey me.

3. Well, I intend to ask them to obey me.

4. Well, it would be great for the military leaders to always take the time to evaluate my decisions before they act.

Rubio just repeats himself repeats himself.

LOL

I don't like Rubio. I don't trust him.

Rubio served a purpose last night (getting into the mud with Trump...) but I'd just as soon see him leave the race.

ANY candidate that the GOPe favors (until they favor the right one- and as of yet they haven't), I will oppose.

“He really shows tremendous ignorance of our system of government.”

Under our system of government, the military is not a part of the decision making, it follows civilian orders.

That is what separates us from a banana republic.

“A real leader doesn’t have to threaten.”

They always do without fail.

Fire bombing Japanese cities had nothing to do with military targets. Or Dresden.

Eisenhower and MacArthur were against nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Believe me, I get your point. ;-)

It's the same as Obama saying "Let me be clear..."

Yes. Trump apparently does not plan to work with our current system of government. That’s what crazy about people believing everything he says he will do. He CANNOT do all he says.

General Patton likely doesn’t think much about Dugout Don.

That doesn’t mean I’m not voting for Trump in the general election. But I don’t swallow the hyperbole.

My take overall on the debating style is this:

Rubio is mistaking tit-for tat and clever repartee as winning. I saw Rubio actually strutting with satisfaction behind the podium in the prior debate when he accused Trump of repeating himself, as if that canceled out Rubio's odd behavior from the Trumpless debate forevermore. Tag, you're It.

Cruz slips into prosecutorial mode too often, charging Trump with "Yes or No... Yes or No! Why won't you... Why won't you!" repeatedly while the moderators are trying to interject. All politicians are trained to talk over others until they are either finished making their point or they used up their opponent's time by filibustering them (repeating Yes or No until the buzzer sounds and the moderators move on to other topics because of time).

I do believe that Trump tries to give honest answers when the questions aren't loaded, which isn't often. Because many of the questions are gotchas, Trump spends time correcting the premise which then causes Rubio or Cruz to interject with "liar" and "just release the tapes." On the other hand, Trump too often self-aggrandizes with braggadocious statements and unnecessary barbs and taunts ("Little Marco").

All of them seem to be following the advice of Sun Tzu:

Sun Tzu said: “If your enemy is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him. If your opponent is temperamental, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant. If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them. If sovereign and subject are in accord, put division between them. Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.”

They are all trying to irritate Trump. Trump is giving them no rest.

>> We purposely killed 100,000s of civilians <<

No, we purposely destroyed infrastructure, indifferent to the knowable effect on the civilian population. Trump is advocating revenge killing as a way of terrorizing the terrorists. And apparently he hasn’t seen the news footage of them using their own kids and wives as suicide bombers.
