No disrespect is intended. My sympathies to Justice Scalia’s family. He was a clear minded, brilliant jurist.

When you assume public office, particularly at the level of The Supreme Court, you surrender part, or all, of your privacy in exchange.

Since Justice Scalia died under unusal circumstances, the public has a right to ask certain questions. Asking the name of his traveling companion is far from out of line, as they may be able to shed light on how Justice Scalia was feeling during the flight down.
