Does anyone have a ball-park idea of how long dry pet food can last if it’s vacuum-packed and stored in pest-proof containers?

Depending on the food itself, it should last longer than people food & that is years.

I am concerned as what to feed dogs after the dog food runs out. They love grass but can not digest it well. If it were cooked it would help. Comments?

I have wondered the same thing but, the Science Diet I buy is so oily, I would be afraid it would go rancid in a year or two.
