Quick analysis of the debate.
One word: Finally.
Cruz and Rubio surrounded Trump and absolutely decimated him. They attacked his record, his integrity, his character. They interrupted him and talked over him. Rubio in particular was vicious. At a few points he laughed in Trump's face. He made Trump look ridiculous and treated him like a clown.
And that's exactly what they both needed to do, and it's exactly what Trump deserves. The great mystery is why they waited 7 months to do it.
Think about it: There have been approximately 87 debates, and all of the candidates have been on TV approximately 18 million times, double that for Trump, yet this is the FIRST TIME anyone has brought up the fact that Trump is CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED FOR MASSIVE FINANCIAL FRAUD. Rubio hit Trump on this point repeatedly, thank God, but it's the first time any of the candidates breathed a word of it. Rubio also feasted on Trump for hiring illegal immigrants (yes, Trump is the "nationalist" candidate who hires foreign illegals to build his skyscrapers) and being fined a million dollars for it, and again, this has not come up on the campaign trail before.
I'm ecstatic that they both have apparently learned their lesson, I'm flabbergasted that it took this long, and I hope they keep it up. Trump is a fool, a coward, a liar, and a hypocrite, and that's how you must treat him. Make him look like a little boy. Make him look like a buffoon. Refuse to take him seriously. You beat Trump by dragging his skeletons out of the closet, by exposing his secrets, by mocking him ruthlessly. That's how you defeat the King Clown, and it's what I've been saying for months. And it's what Rubio and Cruz did tonight, finally, praise God.
Watching Trump be harassed and flummoxed all night was a great moment for America. It was such a patriotic moment that a bald eagle flew into my living room and wept tears of joy. I'm not kidding. That actually happened.
I don't know if this will matter. Trump's fans are infatuated with him and have sacrificed their reason on the altar of celebrity worship. But if there's any chance of stopping him, this is how it's done. You eat him alive, figuratively speaking, until only bones remain. That's the only way to do it. I've been trying to tell you guys this from the beginning. Rubio and Cruz seemed to have caught on tonight. Let's hope it matters in the end, although I'm afraid it might be too late.
Who is this smuck?
GOPe!!
Both are ineligible.
The lines always start early to rally with Trump!
Google Marco Rubio foam parties
Last night was desperation going into warp drive.
Let's hope it's not too late.
Matt Walsh, fiction can be fun, but it’s time to wake up.
Trump won the debate.
The most important takeaway from the debate came right after the debate:
The Great Conservative has now SWERVED to support the 8Gang Cabana Boy.
Cruz is now the Great Conswervative.
Trump very foolishly declined to voice his support for Israel last night, and instead decided to tow the liberal position of supposed neutrality between Israel and Palestinian terrorists.
He can’t even wait until winning the nomination to make a hard left turn. So many Freepers still making him their first choice is nuts.
The Cheap Labor Express has demanded that The Ministry Of Propaganda redouble their efforts to talk us out of electing a President who will shut them down.
And help them change the Constitution without amending it by backing ineligible candidates.
You are going to a blogger who writes for The Blaze and Huffpost for wisdom? Woof.
Bring on the clown. Don’t bother he’s here!
It may have gotten the true Cruz and GOPe all worked up, but I doubt it played very well overall. It just looked like what it was to everyone else... desperation from the Cuban tag team and the MSM moderators.
Sorry, four months too late. Also, the Christie endorsement will knock the debate story off the front pages.
I wouldn’t say they decimated him - he floundered a couple times, but landed his own punches more than once and ultimately, he held his own. It’s too little too late, and waiting this long to unleash only showed them for the desperate suckers they are. On to Super Tuesday. Can’t wait to watch Trump trounce them both.
You think his position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a “winning” position. If , wet-behind-the-ears, pretty-boy Rubio smacked him down for this foolishness.
No he merely another Hate Trump Always screecher mindlessly regurgitating his talking points from “conservative” media like NR and Red State
End results last night
Trump:
No knock out blows, no gaffes which leaves the rest still in Trumps rear view mirror
Rubio:
Great talker and smooth which will make the GOP ladies swoon but no there there. A human parrot repeating what he was taught to say. Take him off script and he fails badly.
For example: After going on the attack in this excited high pitched tone about Trump supposedly lacking specifics in his Health Care plan Rubio ends his tirade sneering “erasing lines around states what does that even mean?”
Trump then calmly respond by schooling young Rubio on how competition in health insurance would work. I guess we can understand why Rubio would be confused: we haven’t had real competition in the US Healthcare Insurance system for almost as long as Rubio has been alive. While Trump is making a clear concise case for his plan, Rubio interrupts with “Yes I know all that it is in my plan”
Those kind of exchanges may make political reporter all excited but it leave average voters going Huh? 30 seconds ago you did not know what it meant NOW it is “part of your plan”?
“Ruibot” earned his unflattering tag again last night. Great as long as he is not forced off script. Once he is forced off script he looks flustered and uncertain. Of the many things voters look for in a President, flustered and uncertain are not two of them.
Cruz.
It is over. Cannot campaign with soaring rhetoric and high minded “perfect political purity” talking points only to have the real record be less then perfect. Warp yourself in “holy” political pure white robes, as Cruz has done, and the political dirt of errors shows up darker and more noticeable. Cruz spent all night walking face 1st into the other candidates, specifically Trumps, punches.
Biggest knock down punches. After telling everyone he was the best qualified to pick SC Justices, Trump points out Cruz’s support for John Roberts, who GOP voters feel should of ended the debate on Obamacare and Gay Marriage and did not.
Then Cruz lectures Trump about campaign contributions only to have Trump point out he gave money to Cruz. Three point shot for Trump since it points out Cruz is woefully unprepared, paints Cruz as a hypocrite and it exposes Cruz as a professional political insider playing this race as a pretend “outsider”.
So at best Rubio/Cruz can claim is a stalemate which is a lose since they are the ones in Trumps rear view mirror
