I just heard the O'Reilly Factor where Cruz and Rubio were interviewed.
The first revelation is that their immigration policies when it comes to deporting illegals is virtually identical to Trump's including the part about rounding up the 11 million illegals and deporting them. I was simply amazed. O'Reilly asked both candidates if they would deport the 11 million illegals and they both said that they would. Six months ago they were not this clear about immigration deportations.
The more interesting answer was from Cruz. O'Reilly suggested that it could not be done because the illegals were entitled to the due process provision of the law. Cruz emphatically said that this was not true and that using ICE the president had the total legal authority to deport illegal aliens in this country. Cruz re-emphasized that with his legal background this was the case.
O'Reilly argued a bit with Cruz and Cruz said that he knew for a fact the president had the total legal authority to deport whoever is here illegally without going through the courts.
Cruz in essence confirmed that what Trump wanted to do regarding deportation all these months is 100% legal and doable under the authority given the president. That was an amazing admission on Cruz' part and a confirmation that Trump as president can indeed deport whoever is in the US illegally. It also confirms that Trump has some pretty good legal advisers on his team and that he knows exactly what he is talking about.

Correct, then lying Rafael just couldn’t help himself and said Trump wanted to grant amnesty to all 12 million illegals. The man is a certified nutcase.
Its not Trump’s ability or willingness to deport illegals that worries me. Its his stated intent to let the “good ones” immediately back in.
Cruz sure seemed pretty sure the deportations were well within the president’s legal authority.

The problem you are laboring with is that none of them (Cruz or Rubio) are straight talkers like Trump. They are politicians, always triangulating two sides against the middle. Enough already of talking out of two sides of their mouth, The law has always been there, they have been playing games with us at the expense of the country and we know it.

What Mr. Cruz has tried to articulate in both word and deed is a middle ground. It got no support from Democrats in Washington, but it goes further than many on the far right want to go by offering leniency to undocumented immigrants here already: A path to legal status, but not to citizenship. A green card with no right to naturalization.
Immigration-reform legislation from the Senate’s so-called Gang of Eight passed that chamber in June and includes a 13-year path to citizenship. Mr. Cruz pushed unsuccessfully for amendments that would have, among other things, eliminated the citizenship component.
Asked about what to do with the people here illegally, however, he stressed that he had never tried to undo the goal of allowing them to stay.
“The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight,†he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Mr. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation.
Mr. Cruz said recent polling indicated that people outside Washington support some reform, including legal status without citizenship. He said he was against naturalization because it rewarded lawbreakers and was unfair to legal immigrants. It also perpetuates illegal crossings, he added.
Besides barring citizenship while instituting some level of legalization for those here already, Mr. Cruz has proposed increasing the number of green cards awarded annually, to 1.35 million from 675,000. He also wants to eliminate the per-country limit that he said left applicants from countries like Mexico, China and India hamstrung when they tried to gain legal entry to this country.
Rubio cannot be trusted on immigration/amnesty.
He never said he would let them right back in. He said they could come back through a legal process. If you have ever immigrated to the US like I have and done it legally you realize that very few can come in legally. Touch back immigration as you put it is total bs.
It think it’s possible that Sessions believed Cruz, but I don’t. The bill died because Eric Cantor got primaried out of a job.
That article is a nice reminder of how the GOP loves to shelve the issue because they are spineless. Or rather, they were spineless, until Trump showed up. Now they just parrot him, but will still fail to deliver. The globalists fund all of their campaigns.

I’m not sure what you’re so amazed about. Cruz has said for a long time that it is legal for the government to deport anyone here illegally. I didn’t see this interview, but I’ve heard him say several times that if an illegal is caught by ICE, they can be deported. He has also talked about the millions of illegals deported by both Clinton and Bush, and about the fact that if the wall was built and border secured, they would not be able to come right back in, and eventually the problem would be solved.
I think if we cut through all the personal attacks and address the substance of it, Trump’s and Cruz’s immigration policies are not all that different. Both want to build the wall and secure the border and both want to deport illegals. The main difference, from what I can see, is that Trump wants to more proactively go after the illegals — like something akin to a “deportation force” and round them up and send them home. Cruz, on the other hand, would do it in more of a piecemeal approach; deporting them as they are apprehended, cracking down on employers, prompting self-deportations, etc.
One other big difference is Trump’s “touchback” policy, where he wants to let the “good ones” come back in. I’ve never been clear, and maybe a Trump person can clarify this, whether he means they go to the back of the line behind those who have been waiting several years to come here legally, or if they are expedited and get to cut in front of the line. If it’s the former, I’m fine with it. If it’s the latter, that would be concerning.
These are the kinds of things I’d like to see discussed in the debates. Of course, that probably ain’t gonna happen as long as we let drive-by moderators continue asking idiotic questions designed to get the candidates to attack each other.
Professional politicians are good at figuring out which way the wind is blowing and getting into it.
Cruz’s campaign is on life support anyway, after failing in SC his “must win” state, the money is going to dry up.
Sessions is my senator. I trust him.
