“Similarly with Hollyweird, past and present
I’m with you. I’m a frequent movie goer and I pay for the actor’s good service, which is acting, the same way I way for the “service” of an airline pilot, automobile manufacturer, or surgeon.
I don’t care what their politics are if they provide me with the service, or product, for which I’m paying.

The Sun is obviously off to the side during the various crescent phases, and so the portion of the moon seen lit here below is the result of sunlight being reflected off of the earth. ie "earthshine"
Trivia: When the Apollo 10 astronauts orbited the dark side of the moon, they heard music.

I wouldn't necessarily go that far. Most music can be obtained for free these days, via YouTube, etc. Then I don't go around asking people what their politics are before buying something from them.
I take it that graphic is not quite to scale?
Lol!
“I really did love their music back in the day, but you are right about the band memberâs antisemitism.”
Oh dear God, what on earth are you talking about? Roger Waters used Nazi imagery in “the Wall” to depict anti-social delusions of the protagonist in his epoch.
While Waters is certainly left-wing in his politics, as is David Gilmour, and Waters certainly railed against Thatcher, Reagan and Al Haig, the music of Pink Floyd did not advance a political agenda.
Learn to separate the art from the politics.
Actually, I believe it is...other than locations of course. This link deals with the actual distances...

pretty cool.
There really is no dark side of the moon; matter of fact, it's all dark.
Location is what I was referring to. :)
As for scale...
It probably gives off some radiation of its own in the form infrared.

"By the Light of the Silvery Moon" goes the song. But the color and appearance of the Moon depends upon the particular set of eyes we use to see it. Human vision is restricted to a narrow slice of the electromagnetic spectrum called visible light.
With colors ranging from sumptuous violet to blazing red and everything in between, the diversity of the visible spectrum provides enough hues for any crayon color a child might imagine. But as expansive as the visual world's palette is, it's not nearly enough to please astronomers' retinal appetites. ..."

Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side Of The Moon”- 1973
So I think it probably was Ummagumma.
Yuch!
You might be right, good point. I can just change it to “direct sunlight”, then its unassailable.
There is no dark side of the moon, really. As a matter of fact its all dark.
Our moon rotates once per orbit around Earth. Thus, it always shows one face to Earth.
What we call the dark side faces the Sun when we see a New Moon each month. Therefore, there is no dark side of the Moon. (And yeah, as a Floydian I know..."Matter of fact, it's all dark.")
There are places at the poles that never see sunlight.
I wasn’t a fan during “The Wall” period...when I said “back-in-the-day” I meant WAYYYY back in the day.
I am old.
