"I donât know who came across worse last night: Was it Marco Rubio for thinking it a bad thing that a presidential candidate doesnât speak Spanish? Or was it Ted Cruz thinking it was important to let us know that he did."With some of the comments being made on this thread, I am not sure how many watched the debate. Cruz said that Rubio spoke Spanish on (I think it was on Univision ) and said Rubio told them he would not recind Obama's immigration policy. Rubio responded how would he, Cruz know what he said because he accused Cruz of not being able to speak Spanish. Cruz then replied back to Rubio in Spanish. It was a great comeback.
I watched most of the debate last night but missed that exchange. Having just watched it, I agree that it was a nice comeback by Cruz. When I originally read about it, I thought that Rubio was criticizing Cruz for not speaking Spanish and then Cruz replied in Spanish to prove that he did. But that wasn't exactly how it went down.
Would have been even funnier if Cruz had said something like "Don't be such a pompous ass Marco" in Spanish.
