I’ve been mocking EMP alarmism for 20 years. In that NOBODY who ever actually had the job of planning to kill lots of people has EVER come out and said “yep we planned to use high altitude EMPs to disable large chunks of electronics”, and of course in that time NOBODY has attempted an EMP based attack an ANY altitude.
The facts are in, the “threat” is a lie.
“In that NOBODY who ever actually had the job of planning to kill lots of people has EVER come out and said âyep we planned to use high altitude EMPs to disable large chunks of electronicsâ”
It was in the Soviet War Plan to do exactly that.
EMP shots would be most effectively used to destroy civilian support around military installations before lower altitude shots and cratering shots are executed on the military installations. For terrorist nations and their intended targets, substitute builtup urban areas for military installations.
But it's true that nuclear exchanges would not cause the human race to be extinct.

Special political interests have been lying to us about the effects of nuclear weapons. Nuclear war is much more survivable than presented in their false scenarios! Have a look at the effects of one of the most powerful warheads--warheads that will not be used, because much smaller yields are much more practical (costs, delivery, concealment for mobiles, lack of extra effects with higher yields, etc.).

American sanctions on Japan in 1940 led to Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, so beware of the lessons of history Mr President, and get civil defense Wednesday, November 18, 2009
Evidence that inaccurate statements about weapons effects have historically caused increased threats to national security, instead of reducing them
