I think Article V is becoming a trap. They seem to be avoiding limiting amendments to changes in the 17th.
Mark Levin would be doing much better pushing this himself and avoiding things like supporting Cruz and criticizing Trump

Paul Heroux, State Senator (D-MA). The kind of politician the founder had in mind when they wrote the 2nd Amendment.

The second Amendment does not
Grant the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. That Right, as the right to self defense, is an unalienable right, granted by our Creator.
The Second Amendment only serves as a reminder to our Government that our right to Keep and Bear Arms is sacrosanct.
Repeal the reminder, and the Right does not go away, only it will be harder to practice unless we do so in large groups.

It will never happen. Two thirds of the states in favor of that?
I am very comfortable saying it won’t happen.

Reminder: nothing is ever settled until it is settled the way liberals want it settled, and then it is settled.

There is exactly one avenue to eliminate the right to bear arms:
Civil war.
There are many ways to instigate that, not just these two.

Then Article I, section would still fail to grant any authority whatsoever to Congress to prohibit the possession of any object or substance other than counterfeit US money.

Civil War 2. And the really unfortunate thing about the coming one, is there will be no way to turn it off. There will be no recognizable armies like the first one. There will be no chain of command to conclude peace. So it will be bloody beyond what the first offered, and the first one was damn-right bloody on its own.
It will be a contest to settle old scores. The wrong bumper sticker on your car will get you killed because it will not be confined to 2nd Amendment issues; civil war never is a one-issue proposition: it's about two different peoples who can not coexist with each other because the other side is perceived to want the other's destruction, and will gleefully celebrate on the way to that end.
So there's your answer. And by the way: we got all the guns.

repealing the Second Amendment. The right of the people to keep and bear arms exists independently of and was not granted by the Second Amendment. 2A merely offers constitutional protection to an existing, fundamental human right.

The right to defend yourself and your family is NOT a right granted by the government. It’s a natural right. Therefore, the government can’t legitimately take it away. All “gun control “ measures including background checks, waiting periods, permits, etc, as well as those being talked about such as mandatory insurance (and don’t think for a minute it won’t be prohibitly expensive for most), taxes on ammunition etc., are all clearly intended to make it difficult if not impossible for someone to own a gun, an infringement if you will. Any attempt to repeal the 2nd, while procedurally legitimate as a new amandment, would be in and of itself an attempt to take away a natural right...infringement again. Therefore the attempt to repeal the 2nd would be unconstitutional.
