Very simple reasons why people are drawn to Trump. Despite the media labeling him a populist, nationalist (as if nationalist is wrong), Trump is what most American Citizens want to be. Self-Actuated
... to realize one's full potential. Expressing one's creativity, quest for spiritual enlightenment, pursuit of knowledge, and the desire to give to society
But there's a precursor to this. As explained:
theory as the final level of psychological development that can be achieved when all basic and mental needs are essentially fulfilled and the "actualization" of the full personal potential takes place,
Mental needs is the actuall full concept here because they can encompass many other needs. Do I have food source?, Do I have shelter? Am I safe? Am I at peace with myself (religious themed), can I procreate? The 5 basic needs of our lives.
Trump is in the final phase of self actualization -- the desire to give to society. He has achieved all of his basic needs and now will become a giver. He is in balance. And we all want to be that way. To be honest, hard working, intellectual, successful and God fearing in the way we understand. We want to be self-actuated ourselves. We want to be Winners.
Also he makes us feel OK about having dreams and aspirations for ourselves and to love our country again without guilt.
So is Michael Bloomberg, but that's not a good enough reason for me to vote for him either.
Could you translate your post into english. This is a US forum. Thanks
Self-actualized. I believe I used that in a post describing Trump in recent weeks. Did you steal it from me, or did I steal it from you (smile.) Or just two great minds running the same channel. Admittedly, for the informed and educated, it jumps out at you and doesn’t take a genius to diagnose self-actualization. Keep up the good work, friend.
I’m all in for Trump.
I just couldn’t resist the pic because Peggy Blumquist was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw your thread. :)
Oh, so the last thirty years of accumulated federal largess should be left alone, by some “be a stranger please- Mr.President?”
WTF are you talking about?
I think Trumps appeal is that he knows that people are angry with the government. If you are out of work, and you see someone who is here illegally working it’s bound to make you mad. If you have a tight budget, and you go the grocery store to buy bread and bologna and its all you can afford until payday, but the illegal Mexican in front of you opens a wallet full of cash and pays for a buggy full of good food with a food stamp card you will be mad. If a love one is killed or raped by an illegal, you will be mad. I will give Trump credit, he knew that immigration was the hot topic this election.
Maslow’s pyramid, something he never actually created, says nothing about procreation.
Self-actualization turns out to be a western civilization thing, and thus not universally applied to humanity. Neo-cons learned this to their/our dismay with the failed attempt to transplant democracy to Iraq and the Middle Eastern nations. To a Muslim, obedience to Allah tops the pyramid; the individual and his/her capacity for self-maximization remains unfulfilled as an insult to God.
You could use some more meditation and chanting. I think you are out of balance.
Is your tambourine in tune?
is your head properly shaved?
I can honestly say that I have never once thought to myself “I want to be Self-Actuated”.
It sounds like a switch for an electric circuit.
If I rained on your parade, it was total coincidence. So I attribute it to minds intersecting at a point.
The first time I came across Self-actualizing was in the late 90's. From a dear friend, Ex boss x 2 who I thought was a genius. He was deeply religious and from Wisconson.
I thought about every once in a while over the years. So it was odd that all a sudden today I finaly felt I understood.
Can yous pass me the link to your post? I would be interested in reading it since mine was a sudden inspiration.
“I am sorry but you completely lost me. When I vote for a candidate it is because they have the same values I do.”
Bingo!!
I would add the following...
1. that he/she is passionate, confident and steady about those values and can articulate them and sell them to the people
2. has a very thick skin, because the opposition will vilify him/her, and has the ability to get back at them in spades
Something tells me newbie fhios has just bumped into Maslow in a college social science course
If someone’s self actualization stems from another person, they don’t quite get the concept.
Hm, my lord (hallelujah)

I’m not the new age type.
If the world wants to be a one world government, I just assume it s under American terms. Just globalization? I want America to do the globalizing. One world religion? I want it to be our religion. an so forth
Clear that up?
Trump is a self-aggrandizing, whiny baby bully. He has sold a bill of goods. The blind trust in him with his record is breathtaking.
He seems to have sold about 30% of the gop. He lost voters today. Not trumpees but people sitting on the fence.
No, I just turned 55 and smoked a doob before posting though, does that count for anything?
I feel better when I vote for the winner. Losers of elections become irrelevant. Like Richard Mourdock or Todd Akin. They can change nothing after losing elections.
Right.
LOL!
