Don’t give him drugs. He’s just being a cat. If you will
tell him “NO!” and keep a plastic fly swatter handy to
emphasize it, he will learn. A few swift swats on his hiney
enough to sting and he will quickly learn you mean it!
Cats have to mark their paths in and out in order to feel
secure in finding their way in and out. I don’t stop Brutus
from marking with her scent glands. She has to be an animal.
I DO stop her from destroying property and she respects me
for it!
12 isn’t excessively old for a cat; but our last cat, Stuffy, went off at 10 yrs. of age into the woods and
died. I don’t know if she ate a mole that had eaten poison
or what. She was independent and did not want me to take
her to the vet (which I did anyway for her checkups and
shots). Cats are as independent as hogs on ice; if they
can’t root, they scoot. - We only learned about Stuffy’s
fate by the flock of buzzards over in the woods near our
house. Stuffy was buzzard food and wouldn’t have had it
any other way at that point. Animals are pragmatic.
Just in case you feel the need to comment here and there, mate. *smile*
I luff mah kittehs.
I got Zippy Pachoo, the Wonder Cat, and the little troublesome vixen Lisa.
They both walked up to me when I was walking my neighborhood and said, “You. I adopt YOU as my pet human.”
They are a mostly-black tuxedo male, and a completely black (except for the cutest tuft of white on her chest) female.
I luff mah kittehs.
My cat tried to assassinate me.
Seems I didn’t respect feline primacy enough, so the dreaded “stop short at top step of stairwell” move was deployed.
So the old jump-through-the-ankles-between-steps and then scream-and-claw-the-lower-legs-in-mock-terror-and-pain method of attempting to make one stumble and crash on a hard floor (and perhaps break a neck) is done with?
I’ll have to watch out for that one! Thanks for the warning! *grin*
And MORE FReepers chime in! *huge laugh*

See? It’s a plot!!!
Another one for the record books! *grin*
Yes.
Another thing to watch out for, the lap pin move.
Kitty pins you to your chair and neglects to let you up.
;^)
Our Brutus has her own little door so she can go outside any
time. It’s convenient, until she brings in a few dead mice,
or live birds, or a live winged lizard that gets loose in
the bed and flits here and there and you don’t know it’s a
winged lizard until you flick it off and it lands at the
foot of your bed looking like a miniature of the winged
dinosaur lizards on Jurassic Park! Fang evicted it out the
window. I love Brutus; but SHE loves Fang better than she
loves me. She is a BUTT! I’M the one who feeds and waters
her and gives her more cat treats than he does!
