Trump Rally in Tulsa [personal report]

I had the opportunity to attend the Trump rally in Tulsa today. I wanted to hear him first-hand without media bias. Palin being there was an added bonus.

1. Trump seems trustworthy. If you're surprised to hear that, so am I to write it. I'm not saying he'll always be right. Look, the President is going to face situations we don't know about yet. How will they be handled? Trump rightfully blasted the stupidity, incompetence, and weakness of the present administration. He made no bones about it. Calling a spade a spade creates trust.

2. Trump has long cared for America. He understands the responsibilities of the President. He will be a refreshing America-first President.

3. Trump knows how to negotiate. He blasted the $150 billion Iranian deal from the community organizer. He said we have political hacks negotiating. He committed to getting strong negotiators and businessmen involved for America's interest.

4. Trump keeps up on current events. This is unlike the current White House occupant, who like Schultz in Hogan's Heros claims "I know nothing" (my analogy). He knows what the poll results are, and likes sharing them because he's in the lead.

5. Trump is a leader. He is driving the discussion. John Maxwell says, "Everything rises and fall on leadership." Under Obama's leadership, America has fallen. As much as I love Cruz, he has not demonstrated leadership, but instead principled strategy.

6. Trump is responsive to criticism. Before the event it was announced that this was a private event and the protesters were to remain outside. When a few rose up, they were quickly escorted out. Trump explained that when that first happened he was criticized for being too harsh. So he tried to tone it down and was called weak.

7. Trump is strongly aware of media dishonesty. He said the good thing about the protesters is that they force the cameras to show the size of the crowd.

8. Trump may overstate things. He said there were 15,000 people present. There were no more than 10,000, probably 9,000 or maybe 8,000. I'm not sure why he did this. Was he given bad information? Did he deliberately overstate? Was he given no information and made his best guess. In any case, this weaken my assessment above that he's trustworthy.

9. Trump is a winner. He says America will begin to win again. He said if he doesn't win the election, then all this is for nothing.

10. In everything Trump shared, he was sensible to me. America currently spends the most on education, yet is ranked #28 in the world. We should spend less and be rated higher. He's against Common Core. He isn't afraid to say "radical islamic terrorism". He wants to help vets and strengthen the military. He is against open borders and says he'll make Mexico pay for the wall. He is strongly pro-second amendment.

11. Trump is high energy. He slammed Jeb as being low energy. He said low energy people don't get things done, and that politicians are all talk and no action.

12. Trump recognizes that liberals and the establishment are the enemy. He recognizes that people are sick and tired and fed up.

13. Trump is pro-Christian. I am not saying that he personally is a strong Christian. He said Christianity is under assault and we will stop the assault against Christianity. (As further evidence, I've also heard him say "I'll be the Christian's best friend.")

14. Trump claimed to use his wealth for all Americans. He said "I'm talking about winning the presidency for you." and "This success is going to you." Could it really be that we in America are so jaded, disappointed, and used, that we refuse to believe a person of means who isn't beholden to the "donor political class" will really do what's best for the country? Or could it be we are again on the verge of selecting a hypocritical, lying, self-centered, anti-American deceiver?

Overall I left feeling that I'd be happy if Trump won. I didn't feel like I had the complete picture of all his positions, and might not like some as they are revealed. However, the key parts of being pro-America, pro-Christian, anti-GOPe, and anti-liberal, along with his demonstrated leadership, sensibility, and intelligence were enough to move me into his camp. An added bonus is that if he maintains his sizable lead, he will have over a full year to prepare for the Presidency and all it's duties and personnel selections.

As for Palin, she had some great lines. "What we need now is a fundamental restoration." "We can believe our best days are ahead of us." "We need a Commander-in-Chief who will respect troops and treat veterans better than illegal immigrants." "The permanent political class is doing the bidding of the donor political class." We currently have a "weak-kneed capitulator-in-chief." She also shared that her son is a wounded warrior.

In Trump’s book published in 2011 he wrote a whole chapter on illegal immigration.

Although he did not make a statement on deportation he made it very clear he saw and illegal immigration as a major problem in our country.

Illegal immigration would not have top billing in this election if it were not for Trump. Even after Trump took all of the heat for bringing it up, Cruz could still not say the word deportation.

Last month Cruz was saying it was a “conversation” we would have after the election.

I started out supporting Cruz but switched to Trump after I researched him.

I still supported and donated to Cruz after I started supporting trump.

This statement about having a “conversation” totally turned me off. It smacks of elitism and/or weakness and I stopped supporting Cruz and started really researching him for the first time.

I have real questions about his TPA vote, his vote for the Corker bill, his true immigration/amnesty stance and a few other things.

So Cruz can try and paint Trump with some lame charge that Trump would not deport but it won’t work on me.

I know who brought the subject up in the first place.

I know who has waffled and who has not.

I know who has tried to obfuscate and make excuses and it is not Trump.

We all are prone to having one statement or action affect us, or stick with us more than others. As much as I have liked Trump and his attitude I have an uneasy feeling when I remember him having trouble using a microphone and yelling to his crew (over and over) "Don't pay this son of a bitch!". I like that sort of brashness. But, for me it doesn't square with a man wanting to create jobs and support people trying to make a buck.

(For the record: I do a fair amount of public speaking at local meetings and have leaned that an annoying 'pop' on words with 'p' in them can be cured by turning the mic down and not holding it close to your mouth.)

Also, understand that this is just debate chatter and I am not ready to throw Trump over board. But Ted Cruz who has an "A" rating at Conservative Review has always made it clear that he did not go to DC to make friends. There is a reason the establishment donors and beltway insiders are flocking to the deal maker.

Yours is an attitude problem. It is not one of intellectual discourse or of providing enlightening information. It is bluster and it is incomplete and out of context.

The few references made in the US Constitution and in the 1790/1795 Naturalization Acts have been bandied about the internet and FR for years in relation to NBC folklore. Natural born is natural, meaning not naturalized. Laws have always referenced the only two categories.

Again natural Born means natural means not naturalized. There are only two types of citizens, natural and naturalized.

The context is that a naturalized citizen may be captured and held to a prior allegiance. This has happened. Hence, they are prime targets to become double agents by force.

The 19th Amendment provides a landmark in time of the shift in how birthright was conferred. Prior to it, citizenship was conferred by the father. After it, citizenship was conferred by either the mother or the father. The birthright was the first step in establishing citizenship.

Ted Cruz was born of a citizen parent who maintained her allegiance and ties to the United States. She never applied for Canadian citizenship. Her only association with Canada was that she worked for a short while in the Alberta oil industry. Her son was born in Canada and Canada automatically recorded his birth and under their laws granted him immediate citizenship. The mother did not request such status for her son. It was automatic. She completed the process of establishing his American citizenship when she brought him to his home country as a young boy. There are numerous cases of this happening to many many Americans. It is not even a question except in the slugfest of political elections where uncertainty over absurdities is thrown about to scare people.

I support Donald Trump. Ted Cruz is my second choice and my strongest preference for VP.

Donald said back in early December at a rally that he really liked Ted Cruz, that his (Cruz’) poll numbers were not good and that he might have to “go to war” with Ted if Ted’s poll numbers became competitive with his own. He said all of that in early December.

Then Donald said at a rally about two weeks ago that he was told that you have to be born on US soil to be natural born, That is not true. Donald struck out with that claim. But he did it to inject the question in the media to create a discussion. No matter what the truth is, the injection of uncertainty will always cause poll numbers to weaken unless the injection is so absurd or laughable

Then Donald said recently that it looks like Ted is getting it straightened out. And then he went back to pounding Ted on the issue and other issues. That’s the slugfest of primary politics. It’s to be expected. Donald is a master at directing attention to uncertain or unknown things about his opposition, and keeping the media attention focused on it. Donald wants to win, he’s not expected to do anything else.

Cruz is eligible. He’s on the ballot in all states. His backers know he is eligible. The democrat that filed a lawsuit against him has a very weak case that will be dismissed.

Donald will be the nominee because he appeals to more demographics, not because Ted is ineligible. NBC is nothing but a distraction is this.

I stand corrected, but thanks to your like I have a better idea of his talent.
