Stupid Iowa Governor tells Iowans not to support Ted Cruz
The Right Scoop ^ | Jan 19, 2016 | The Right Scoop

Posted on 01/19/2016 12:00:11 PM PST by Isara

The idiot governor of Iowa has come out today saying he wants Ted Cruz defeated because he doesn’t support ethanol subsidies:

DES MOINES REGISTER – “Ted Cruz is ahead right now. What we're trying to do is educate the people in the state of Iowa. He is the biggest opponent of renewable fuels. He actually introduced a bill in 2013 to immediately eliminate the Renewable Fuel Standard. He's heavily financed by Big Oil. So we think once Iowans realize that fact, they might find other things attractive but he could be very damaging to our state,” Branstad said.

Branstad added that Cruz “hasn't supported renewable fuels, and I think it would be a big mistake for Iowa to support him.”

Asked if he would want to see Cruz defeated, Branstad said “yes.”

Once again the establishment comes out against Ted Cruz, which tells you that he’s exactly the guy we need in Washington. Cruz is right about the government not picking winners and losers and in this case ethanol subsidies are a loser.

As Cruz has said repeatedly, he completely supports ethanol as an alternative energy source just as he supports all the other alternative energy sources. It’s just that he believes the free market should be the arbiter and not the government.

TRUMP: Vladimir Putin's praise is 'a great honor'

Business Insider ^ | December 17, 2015 | By Maxwell Tani

Republican US presidential front-runner Donald Trump is apparently "honored" that Russian President Vladimir Putin considers the real-estate magnate a "flamboyant" and "very talented" man.

"It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond," Trump said in a statement, according to Politico.

He continued: "I have always felt that Russia and the United States should be able to work well with each other towards defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, not to mention trade and all of the other benefits derived from mutual respect."

“The Governor of Iowa believes Cruz’s anti ethanol stance will hurt Iowans.”

And that makes him stupid in the eyes of the cruznadians. Nice.

How Russia arms America's southern neighbors

Ioan Grillo
May 9, 2014

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Russia's push into Ukraine has put many on edge. But less known is that Russia is also strengthening its military links south of the Rio Grande and re-establishing itself as a power in the region.

Vladimir Putin has been strengthening military links here, and Russia is now the largest arms dealer to governments in Latin America, surpassing the United States.

Russia has even floated the possibility of building new military bases in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and putting its warships permanently in the Caribbean.

In the midst of the Ukraine crisis, Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov recently visited Cuba, Peru, Chile, and Nicaragua, where he announced that Russia would also pour money into the new Central American canal project. ..."

Russia Boosts Arms, Training for Leftist Latin Militaries

Moscow defense minister inks deals with Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua for joint exercises

BY: Bill Gertz
February 20, 2015

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.

Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.

Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

Trump calls for higher ethanol mandate

Donald Trump said Tuesday that federal regulators should increase the amount of ethanol blended into the nation's gasoline supply.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, Trump, a real estate mogul and the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, said the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ought to follow the ethanol volumes Congress set in 2007.

"The EPA should ensure that biofuel ... blend levels match the statutory level set by Congress under the [renewable fuel standard]," Trump said.

Makes him stupid for defending the millstone of Iowa farmers
and other Iowians who make their living in ethanol.

If the Governor of Iowa won’t defend ethanol, who will?

I have a different view of ethanol, but I don’t live in Iowa, nor
is my millstone dependent on Iowa.

Great strategy.

They're not all necessarily stupid. Many of them simply don't know very much about what's going on. This doesn't necessarily make them stupid. They just may not have the time to find stuff out.
