What you say about the present state of mankind is true: indeed it is even worse than you say. For they neglect not only the Law of Christ, but even the Law of Nature as known by the Pagans. For now they do not blush at adultery, treachery perjury, theft and other crimes, which I will not say Christian doctors, but the Pagans and Barbarians have themselves denounced.

They err who say: "The world is turning pagan again." Would that it were! The truth is, we are falling into a much worse state. Post-Christian man is not the same as pre-Christian man. He is as far removed as a virgin from a widow... there is a great difference between a spouse-to-come and a spouse sent away.

I’m impressed. He is right, perhaps for the first time in his life, but I didn’t think he was capable of admitting such an unpalatable (to him) truth.

You can not have civilization without a basic set of values to unite people.
Christianity provides a very good set, as do Judaism and Buddhism.
What we in the west with a smug sense of superiority call "secular" values are ironically based on Judeo-Christian teachings and traditions.
For 1400 years, we have *tried* to convince ourselves that Islam is part of the same family but that has not worked out, has it?

I give him credit for being honest rather than putting on the usual blinders that the left is using to not see what Islam really is. I guess I can pray for his soul.

After spending a lifetime trying to destroy Christianity Mr. Dawkins has gotten a glimpse of what will replace it.

Maybe all the other anti-Christian bigots will also change their tune

Interesting. Atheists just see all religions the same...but the only thing standing between a muslim and an atheist is a Christian. The only thing between islamic domination is Christianity.

...interesting that he, as an atheist, has come to this conclusion. I pray that he realizes the truth in Christ.

Even the Post-modernist philosophers (if you can call that bunch of reactionary junk philosophy) concede that.

The guy has spent a lifetime trying to stamp out Christianity. Now he’s getting a glimpse of what the world would be without Jesus Christ. Imagine his realization when he finally gets full knowledge of life without God.

Many an atheist would tell you that Religion, is a useful concept, which is why Man invented it. If everyone basically had their own belief systems, nothing would ever get accomplished, but invent something that says the rules come from something other than Man, and get people to believe it, then it’s easier to control and harness people into building a society.

I think many atheists believe that getting rid of religion doesn’t necessarily lead to a better society, although they may not personally be a believer.

People are starting to notice where a secular, "post-Christian" culture really leads - and it ain't utopia.

You’re going to have some form of religion no matter what, it can be based on a Supreme Being, or on some mad-made construct. That’s why this notion that we should just do away with all religion and the world will be a better place, is a bunch of hooey.

Yep, Christianity is a bulwark against eternal damnation. He should try it sometime.
