I had an HMO and was mis-diagnosed for a decade. Eventually I hooked up with a decent provider that ordered a simple MRI that revealed the true problem and I got it fixed through surgery. Good as new. It was Signa. They were all about keeping costs down and healing wasn’t emphasized. My doctor at the time was an idiot.
The government hmo will be much worse, no doubt.
Same here stand up to this evil being thrust upon us!
All going according to plan. He wants the masses to scream for Government care.......he has convinced many naive Americans that they will get ‘free’ healthcare from the Government. He lies. The masses also believe they will get all the healthcare they need.......another lie.......this country is in for a very rude awakening!
For most of my life, I was covered under Kaiser Permanente’s health plan in southern California.
It was the go to middle class HMO - world class health care, decent premiums and you got to choose your own personal plan doctor.
It beat fee for service medicine, which my family never had to use.
Now I’m covered by Medicaid expansion, which is more or less what I was used to in CA.

ObamaCare Extended To Policing Gun Ownership

“If you like your gun, you can keep your gun” is definitely not anything you’ll be hearing from President Obama soon.
You may never have thought that a simple visit to the doctor could lead to the FBI breathing down your neck, but the president’s new executive actions on gun control could lead to just that, mortally wounding the long-established presumption of doctor-patient confidentiality.
Obama’s directives apparently trump long-standing federal rules preventing doctors from disclosing mental health matters. Now the executive branch will “expressly permit certain HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) covered entities to disclose to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) the identities of individuals who are subject to a Federal ‘mental health prohibitor’ that disqualifies them from shipping, transporting, possessing or receiving a firearm.”
Currently, if a doctor discloses a patient’s private information without that patient’s authorization, the physician could be sued for malpractice or invasion of privacy. The president now apparently wants violating that confidential bond to be treated as an act that promotes public safety.
And the question of “mental health” is entirely subjective. If you tell your doctor you woke up Monday morning feeling like killing yourself, or that your spouse made you mad enough to reach for your hunting rifle, will that warrant a call to the FBI? Will a federal SWAT team then pounce, just in case you have a gun or two in the house? Such law enforcement overreach is by no means an outlandish scenario.
The ObamaCare database, it turns out, was only the beginning of this administration’s violations of the medical privacy of Americans. Now doctors are set to be enlisted in the nation’s federal gun police.

For us poor puds who are self-employed you’ll have an HMO or get nothing at all.
My advice? Challenge the doctors at every turn. Of course you’ll probably end up on”the list.”
Oh I do. Frequently on those seldom occasions when I subject myself to them. It usually makes them angry to have their “superiority” challenged.
I think an air of infallibility is the first thing they teach in medical school. Something got to my brother and changed him into a person I don’t even know.
Interesting. In my view, people aren’t ridiculed or shamed enough when they’re young. All that “let the kid explore and find himself” is a bunch of garbage.
Shame and embarrassment are powerful when used properly and in context.
