Yes, Cruz is the real deal. No need to take my word for it. Just look and listen. It's as Limbaugh says: the left and the establishment right will always tell you who they fear the most.
Sure, they hate both Trump and Cruz. The hatred for Trump is understandable, from their standpoint. He makes republicans look bad – he's intolerant and generally causes them embarrassment. But the antipathy for Cruz is born of fear. They fear the end of the government gravy train if he get's elected. They fear that with Cruz at the helm, Americans may just discover they don't actually need Washington involved in every facet of their lives. They fear an uncompromising Constitutional standard bearer as head of the party.
So their strategy is to send out trusted surrogates to trash the candidate and place the seed of doubt in voter's minds (and big money backers) that a Cruz nomination will surely equal a Hillary win.
Case in point: Moderate republican shill and former George W. Bush communications director Nicolle Wallace said in an interview regarding Ted Cruz: "He is truly despised [by republicans] - he is not a team player" and is apparently the king of "hubris and egomania." She, like almost all other establishment hacks, pundits and politicians are just plain befuddled, as Wallace, with an uncomfortable laugh, tells the interviewer that Cruz is "at the top of the polls in Iowa, so I think voters are saying they just don't care."
The key here is not so much that Cruz is despised or is tops in hubris and egomania. No - it's that "he is not a team player." I'm reminded of the movie Johnny Dangerously. A gangster boss known as Johnny Dangerously is actually Johnny Kelly. His younger brother Tommy Kelly has no idea he is the notorious mob boss Dangerously. Tommy is appointed assistant District Attorney and vows to bring down the infamous gangster. The D.A., who's on the mob's take, invites Tommy to his palatial estate, which is all courtesy of gangster payoffs. He tells Tommy, he too could have what the D.A. has, as he proclaims, "It's all yours Tommy, if you play ball! What do you say?" – to which Tommy replies, "I'll see you in prison!"
With this unfortunate confirmation of the assistant D.A.'s lack of cooperation, the mob, unknown to Dangerously, attempts to then "take out" his younger brother Tommy.
Ted Cruz is Tommy Kelly. He must be taken out.
Wallace explains that, "these are good republicans who worked in the Bush administration and who clerked in the Supreme Court who say they would have a really hard time voting for Ted Cruz if he were the republican standard bearer."
What can you say to an exclamation such as that - but WOW! I've been holding my nose and pulling the lever for progressive establishment republicans since 1988 and these people have the nerve to cry over one conservative candidate? Look at who we've been conned and bullied into supporting, all for the good of the precious party! George H.W. Bush, the kinder/gentler progressive. Bob Dole, war hero, but his nomination was equivalent to a lifetime achievement award. George W. Bush, who merely pretended to be a conservative. Bush lied - my vote died. And of course the other two loser establishment picks: McCain and Romney.
And we're not allowed one candidate? This inner circle of power and control is very exclusive and conservatives are not allowed a seat at the table - and we certainly don't have the necessary accreditation to sit at the head of the table.
What have we conservatives been saying all along? If someone like Cruz or Trump gets the nomination, the establishment would much prefer a Hillary presidency and this is the exact veiled threat the establishment kingmakers sent Wallace out to disseminate.
They are scared to death of Ted Cruz. It is a delight to see and I personally count it as a gift to finally be able to back someone I believe in – not someone we have to settle on, or like Romney, try to convince ourselves that he will be okay. We finally have someone for whom we don't have to constantly wonder, "Is he for real this time?"
Presbyterians do not wear their religion on their sleeves. Trump is a Presbyterian as am I. Trump’s good deeds speak for the heart of the man. Cruz is trying to use the church and evangelicals as his political pawns for his own aggrandizement. As Distasteful to me just as the Pope expounding on America’s politics turns me off big time.
I saw that too.
And surprisingly on FreeRepublic.
At the end of the day, this election will truly indicate God’s pleasure/displeasure with our nation. As Cruz is a genuine man of faith and, as our nation desperately needs to return to its founding principles as delineated in the Constitution (principles set forth by a group of Godly, God-fearing men), we will have a clear choice presented at the ballot box.
The goal for Cruz supporters at this point is twofold. First, men and women of God must return to Him who is the Just and the Justifier. The church needs to repent of its manifold sins (see the letters to the churches in Revelation to find those areas that need repenting). We need to get real with God if we are to expect Him to deliver our nation from the death-spiral we find ourselves in. We need to live for God, fan our God-given gifts into flame and use them to set before our nation an example of Christ’s love for the lost sinner. Our time has come, the blood of the martyrs in the Middle East who are literally “being crucified with Christ” demands our reasonable service to offer our bodies as spiritual sacrifices and, and be able to give resounding “Yea, Lord, Thou knowest all things, Thou knowest I love Thee,” when He asks, “Lovest thou Me more than these?” The second thing to do is to pray. Pray without ceasing concerning this election.
This, I believe, is how the Christian supporter of Ted Cruz needs to fight in support of his campaign.
Ever notice the Trumpets only hit sour notes with no substance? Thanks for the post. Ignore the bulloes from the bully pulpet. They are loke their hero, all offense and no defense.
Real conservatives are not fooled by Trump. Cruz will have a fight to get things done. But like Reagan he will go over the heads of the obstacles and go straight to the American People and they will help him. He is a thinker and unlike Trump when he opens his mouth he has thoughtful (conservative) things to say. I will never vote for Trump. If we are not going to have a real conservative in office I will just let you smart Trumpbots who remind me of Obamabots live with what you are hoping for. I don’t have long left. You will have to deal with it for years to come. With its Ted Cruz or write in Ted Cruz.

Where was Cruz when the Capital Cronies were stealing the Mississippi election from Chris McDaniel and handing it to Cochran?

Manchester, New Hampshire (CNN)Sen. Ted Cruz argued Monday that any potential White House candidate who's not willing to reject the emerging deal with Iran over its nuclear development is "not fit to serve" as president.
Speaking at a Politics and Eggs breakfast in New Hampshire on Monday, Cruz urged the audience to press other contenders on whether they would "be willing to repudiate" a non-Congressional approved agreement reached with Iran should they become president.
"Any candidate in my view who will not say 'yes' to that is not fit to serve as commander in chief of this country," said Texas Republican senator.
Cruz was one of 47 GOP senators who signed a letter last week to Iran suggesting that the deal needs to be approved as a treaty by Congress in order for it remain a valid agreement when Obama leaves office in January 2017.

Ted Cruz: Iran Deal's $50 Billion Signing Bonus Will Fund Terrorism
By Jason Devaney
July 2015
A $50 billion signing bonus that could be part of the Iran deal will be used to fund terrorism, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz says.
During an interview at the Christians United For Israel conference in Washington, D.C. Monday, Cruz - a Republican candidate for president - said the so-called signing bonus will ultimately help terror groups attack Americans.
"One component [of this deal] I understand is a $50 billion signing bonus of frozen assets that would flow into Iran. That money, we know to an absolute certainty would be used to fund Hezbollah, Hamas, and radical Islamic terrorists throughout the Middle East, throughout Latin America and the world," Cruz said, the Christian Post reports.
"That money would be used to murder Americans, Europeans, Israelis. This deal, if it is consummated, would transform the United States government into being one of the leading financiers funding terrorism against Americans."
"It makes no sense whatsoever and we are going to have over the next couple of months a serious debate over the Iran deal. It is my hope that the American people will rise up. I would give a call of action of the men and women of CUFI that it is critical that each and every one of us reach out and highlight the threat."
Later, Cruz accused the Obama administration of "appeasement."
"The truth of the matter is that Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and President Obama are all perfectly fine with Iran having a nuclear weapon," Cruz said. "The inevitable outcome of this deal is either one of two things will happen. Either Iran will acquire nuclear weapons or there will be military conflict. This hardy deal makes military conflict more likely. ..."

Cruz: Iran deal is a 'historic mistake'
By Mark Hensch
April 2015
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Saturday argued that finalizing any pact with Iran over its nuclear arms research would instantly produce one of the worst diplomatic deals of all time.
"It is a historic mistake," Cruz told listeners at the New Hampshire Republican Party's First In the Nation leadership summit in Nashua, N.H.
"Every year in Iran they celebrate 'Death to America Day,' " the 2016 GOP presidential hopeful added.
"If history teaches any principle, it is that if somebody says they want to kill you, believe them," he concluded.
Cruz argued that even a framework accord with Iran would jeopardize global safety. Setting its details in stone, he charged, would prove catastrophic. ..."

Ted Cruz: Iran nuclear deal 'the worst betrayal' of American terror victims
Sylvan Lane
November 4, 2015
WASHINGTON--Sen. Ted Cruz claimed the Obama Administration has prevented American terror victims from receiving compensation for their losses and called the Iranian nuclear deal "the worst betrayal."
Cruz, a Republican presidential candidate and one of the deal's most active critics, called the money it would release to Iran through sanctions relief "a national disgrace" during a Senate hearing on compensation for American victims of Iranian and Palestinian terror. ..."

Actually polls show Cruz beats Hilary and Hilary beats Trump.
In a phone interview with CNN Tuesday evening, Trump claimed that there's "something in the Iran deal" that "people don't understand" saying if someone attacks Iran, "we have to come to their defense."
"Does that include Israel?" Trump asked. "And most people say yes, they don't have an exclusion for Israel. So if Israel attacks Iran, according to that deal, I believe, the way it reads, unless they have a codicil or they have something to it, that we have to fight with Iran against Israel." ..."
Trump was most probably referring to language highlighted by the opponents of the deal. On page 142, the deal includes a clause that states, "Co-operation through training and workshops to strengthen Iran's ability to protect against, and respond to nuclear security threats, including sabotage, as well as to enable effective and sustainable nuclear security and physical protection systems."
Washington-based Center for Security Policy asserted that Annex III appears "to commit the United States and other world powers to the defense of Iran's nuclear program."

Republican US presidential front-runner Donald Trump is apparently "honored" that Russian President Vladimir Putin considers the real-estate magnate a "flamboyant" and "very talented" man.
"It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond," Trump said in a statement, according to Politico.
He continued: "I have always felt that Russia and the United States should be able to work well with each other towards defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, not to mention trade and all of the other benefits derived from mutual respect."

Aug 2015...
From Real Clear Politics, Sept 10, 2015...
"In a 2014 New Yorker interview, Obama said his goal was to create a 'new equilibrium' in the Middle East.
In the short run, at least, his signature diplomatic undertaking can be counted on to bring more violence to this volatile region.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, [aka as the Obama-Putin Iran deal] agreement is formally known, provides the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism an infusion of somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 billion of unfrozen assets and a great deal more of continuing revenues as businesses and governments around the world rush to profit from oil-and-gas-rich Iran's reintegration into the world economy.
The agreement relaxes the international isolation of the Islamic Republic and ratifies Tehran's status as a nuclear threshold state. And it relieves restrictions on Iran's acquisition of weapons, including ballistic missiles. ..."
With all due respect listing a series of failed bills in the Senate as a “success” is nothing to crow about.
In fact Cruz supports literally have nothing to point to and say “see! Look at the success Cruz’s leadership has had in the senate”. But they will use the fact that he is in the Senate, and thus has the privilege of introducing bills that get less than 10 votes, as him “walking the walk”.
So in reality, they both have “talk” right now. And at least with Trump, I dont expect him to have introduced bills seeing that he isnt an elected member of government.

More Trump supporter "fantasy".
Cruz called for an investigation, called the ads "racially charged false attacks" and slammed the GOPe for what they did.
McDaniel is now campaigning for Cruz.
And surprisingly on FreeRepublic."
There are leftist sites that use the "Christian Taliban" term---some in connection with Trump detractors, some not---but it's the last thing I expected to see here.
Iâm sure Trump must have struggled terribly with his $100 million plus inheritance. Poor baby.
..........................................................
Trump did not inherit 100 million, but even it he had, he has done very well in a terribly risky and difficult profession. It really discredits anything you have to say when you exhibit such a repulsive JEALOUSY of someone’s success! That’s a Liberal trait and a Communist trait in the extreme. Sorry to see you lower yourself with such trashy comments.
Trump has a track record which is very impressive. Where is Cruz’s record on anything outside of a lot of words and false bluster?
They are loke their hero, all offense and no defense.
.......................................................
Obviously you have never heard the very old adage, “The best defense is a good offense.”
Surely it’s obvious you have never practiced same.
