I give up; I canât keep up with the ever shifting sands of racism and political correctness. One day Santa is okay, butt his sidekick, Black Pete is unacceptable. The next day itâs Santa whoâs unacceptable: too white, fat, too privileged:
In the twinkle of an eye, only black guys matter:
And then of course thereâs the monkey controversy: first, all monkeys are deemed racist,
â¦until they arenât.
Honestly, this new world order is a nightmare; like being trapped in an Ikea store at Christmas time.
Anyway, weâll sort through all this next year. For now, itâs Christmas Eve and everyoneâs busy, busy, busy. So, as Iâve done for 7 years straight (which makes it a tradition), Iâll just post my perennial Christmas Eve singing Christmas card from sunny Hawaii. Relax and enjoy the mellow strains of Bing Crosby as you go about your busy day. And as they say in Hawaii: Mele Kalikimaka!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!
And now I must go sit in the corner and think about what Iâve done here. I think Iâll have some of Betty Annâs eggnog.

Merry Christmas, pardner!
Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say
On a bright Hawaiian Christmas Day
That’s the island greeting that we send to you
From the land where palm trees sway
Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright
Sun will shine by day and all the stars at night
Mele Kalikimaka is Hawaii’s way
To say Merry Christmas to you.
