John Hinderacker and Ed Morrisey have been wondering why a solidly Republican Congress is going through with such a lousy omnibus bill that betrays conservative values.
The answer is simple...
Other conservatives tell me - we need to elect the right people, Obama is destroying America, the electorate is naive or stupid - all of which may or may not be true.
But the simple fact is - Big Government (and the progressives who live on it) has an unlimited oxygen supply courtesy of our totally unbacked, fiat currency which allows the massive debt at fake interest rates to support the edifice. Give ANY person the ability to print and spend $1 Trillion, and they eventually will.
Fix the US monetary system, and you fix 1000 other things at the same time.
Wouldn’t you love to see this graphic on Drudge and sent to those who this applies to?
November can’t get here soon enough!
Well, judging from everything I've read and studied, we allegedly did so in 2010 and again in 2014. So why aren't we winning?
This is why I am now supporting and article 5 convention, all of the less radical methods of change have been tried, and have failed.
No, they have been there a long, long time.
Good luck with that...I don't believe it'll end up like most supporters think it will, but anyhow...
I know...I acknowledge that in the title :-)
Yes, I would love to see that!!!!
That pusillanimous poltroon needs to shave his beard. He’s unworthy.
Look where that got us ...
If the Republicans we elect were stronger and willing to stand and not back down, Article V would work. Unfortunately, they will bend and cut deals and, ultimately, the process WILL get hijacked - not by liberals wanting to end the 2nd Amendment, but by Republicans who fall over themselves in the name of "bipartisanship". Best case scenario? NOTHING gets passed out of Article V. Worse case? Well, I don't even want to go there, which is why I can't support Article V.
Yes, the Founders gave it to us as a remedy. BUT, back in the Founder's days, the good guys were one helluva lot more stubborn, courageous and patriotic. Today, are pols - even the R's in state legislatures - are nothing but limp wristed pansies willing to cut deals and bend over for the leftists.
"The reason our guys [conservatives] never get into high places is that as soon as they get into high places, they're no longer our guys."
