Like it or not, Cruz would have to fight a continual battle to prove his eligibility.

Like Obama?

That ship has already sailed.

He only gave up his duel Canadian citizenship

His Canadian citizenship did not necessitate any kind of face off with pistols or swords. He simply renounced his Canadian status and lost his dual citizenship.

Trump is the liberal GOPeer that can attract the "undecideds" that the GOPee always wants to attract while keeping the Base in line (for at least a first term).

Cruz is flame bait to the LSM and likely will have trouble attracting the middle due to LSM efforts.

Trump could kill H->! AND the GOPee. Cruz would have trouble winning the General.

Forget all the candidates except for Trump. All the rest are simple minded fast talking points and will do nothing for America. Like King Obama, talk a good game but nothing will improve. Trump is the only real American and will change America back as far as a human can to the shinning Country it once was.

Still on this tack, are you? It’s not going to work.

If you think the media would let Trump slide on his liberal past, you are deluding yourself.

Cruz is more than capable of handling whatever the media throws at him; in fact, he welcomes the fight. He’ll dispatch them effectively, coolly, and with grace. Can’t say that about all the candidates.

Listen, Cruz was born with his American citizenship. That is all there is to it. He’s eligible.

Corker bill criticism is legit. That is indeed troubling. I’ve chosen to look past that. Others may not.

I am also bothered by his stance on foreign workers. But I’ll look past that too.

Both Cruz and Trump are good men. Not perfect men, but good men.

Trump went bankrupt. He would be asked about that repeatedly and how he can fix the economy if that went down on his watch

Trump’s finances would be examined. Every deal made with Unions. The pay of his employees

Trump’s books would be examined by a team of marxists

Trump’s support of syrian refugees would be highlighted.

Trump’s lack of foreign policy questioned repeatedly

Trump’s position of letting the good illegals stay would beexamined

+++++++++

Wanna go after Cruz, fine but Trump has flaws

So old “coach” has chosen to support Trump? Don’t care, but don’t believe his reasons that Cruz couldn’t become president.

Cruz voted for the Coker Bill that made the Iran Nuke deal impossible to stop.

There was only one vote against TPA. Perhaps the author of this drivel should understand why before using this as a negative.

Cruz has been and would be totally dependent on donated money to run his campaign. It would be a tough uphill fight that would eat into his campaigning time.

Trump is self-financed and owes no one anything. But Trump epitomizes pay-to-play, giving money to everyone to call in favors, he admits it. That is the game Trump knows. I cannot imagine Trump not playing his favorite game in the future. And who would Cruz be beholden to? His biggest donors. Individuals who donate, on average, $75. So, he will represent the little man, right?

Cruz would be constantly asked to explain how he would fix the economy and try to do so with few credentials in this area.

Trump’s domestic long suit is the economy. Really? Trump favored TARP, bailouts, stimulus, more stimulus, raising taxes... No thanks. We already have the Obama economy. THE SAME ONE TRUMP PUSHED FOR!

Cruz has come out against excluding Muslims which will make him the target should there be another Islamic lunatic attack.

BS ALERT! It doesn’t take much research to disprove this one. Cruz had already sponsored a bill to stop Muslim immigration from countries that have terrorist activity.

It's true. The GOPe and media can take out Cruz in many ways that they can't do to Trump. He just goes over their heads, the way Reagan could. Cruz can't do that. Another big factor for me is that Trump, just by virtue of his celebrity status and persona as a New Yawka, appeals to a huge slice of minorities, and that is a huge problem for the dems in the general election. Cruz won't be able to do that.

Would I prefer President Cruz to President Trump. Probably, assuming Cruz can get his policies enacted. Trump may backslide on some things in ways that Cruz wouldn't. But Cruz would probably have a harder time getting his programs passed than Trump would. Ryan and McConnell would fight him every step of the way. Trump would call them out, give a speech, and bring them in line.

So, if Trump simply fixes the border, fights ISIS and brings spending into better line, he will have done more than enough to bring the country back. That can, in turn, set the stage for a President Cruz to take over with a more cerebral, overarching conservatism that has the wind of a good economy at its back.

I just don't think Cruz can get the nomination, and even if he could, have the appeal needed to overcome the voter fraud and MSM shenanigans which a Republican needs to win. Better to focus on the guy who can, and not give the GOPe any openings to slip a phony through.

My view throughout has been that I will vote for the candidate that the GOPe and MSM hate the most. That tells me who they fear. They definitely hate Cruz, but they fear Trump even more. He will reinvent the GOP, with a big "you're fired!".

A little more:

The RNC can stop Cruz with a number of little things they could not get away with on Trump.

They could schedule a Cruz appearance with people like John McCain and let Cruz explain saying No!

They could “forget” to notify local Republican heroes or local media when Cruz was coming to town.

They could “forget” to send out campaign materials.(I’ve seen this one more than once)

They could get big donors to go on record about why they were not supporting Cruz, thereby scaring off smaller heavy donors.

Clearly none of that applies to Trump.

Cruz can be tied to the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and Goldman Sachs through his wife Heidi’s membership and employment. As unfair as it would be, Cruz would have to continually explain these things when he has to be out campaigning.

Trump has no such problem.

As member of the CFR, Heidi Cruz was a member of a Task Force that recommended Mexico, America and Canada “… should commit themselves to the long-term goal of dramatically diminishing the need for the current intensity of the governments’ physical control of cross-border traffic.”

This means no wall. Cruz would have to explain this contradiction over and over again.

Could Cruz merely explain away all of these - and there are many more - he would not be able to do so with free media.

Where you’re born isn’t that pressing anymore. McCain was born on Coco Solo Naval Airbase, Panama Canal. Now, Can ya’ tell me where Obama was born? Right. So it’s absurd to think Cruz, whose mother was an American citizen, is going to have a problem on this issue.

Good arguments.

Even if Cruz were right on every single issue, which I don’t believe he is, how effective could he be?

I believe the following reason provided by the Coach is too cautious, though that may be deemed necessary for publication purposes:

Cruz has come out against excluding Muslims which will make him the target should there be another Islamic lunatic attack.

As we enter the Christian and Jewish holiday season, I believe the Muslim threat level is not should there be but when there is another Islamic lunatic attack. Given the number of Muslims we have in the country, I would say the likelihood of another attack happening very soon is close to 100%.
