There’s absolutely tragic news to report as former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland died Thursday night (Dec. 3) at the age of 48. The news has been confirmed with an official statement posted on the rocker’s social media sites.

but drugs are just like alcohol..I mean really, we should all just use drugs instead, because drugs are safe...
seriously, alcoholics die the long death, but druggies can die instantly, like at age 48 and many die much younger...

STP did some good music. Forty-eight is much too young. Wetland had troubles with heroin and I guess it caught up to him. RIP.

I wouldnt ever say he wasn’t. But I’ll say this. I have the same GI/intestinal problems he did and it can take one hell of a physical/mental tool. Add that to his miserable life growing up, his self medicating and outright drug problems and a batshit crazy wife...to say nothing of the record co pressures and the mentak shock of going from a lumberjack town loser to king of the musical world...
A shotgun to the head isn’t an unlikely scenario.

Such unfortunate news. Stone Temple Pilots debut album Core was simply fantastic.

A shotgun to the head isn’t an unlikely scenario The shotgun found in his lap ejected to his right the ejected shell was found on his left. A physically impossible outcome if he fired the shotgun.
The amount of heroin in his system would have made impossible for him to have remained conscious let alone fire a shotgun.
GI/intestinal problems had been alleviated by medication and he was no longer in chronic pain.
