Posted on 11/11/2015 7:20:29 AM PST by NOBO2012
I missed the kiddie debate which by all accounts was better than the featured film. The big kids debate played like the 4th sequel to a not-so-popular-to-begin-with movie.
One sequel too many?
My random thoughts:
Kasich lectured us on why âlaw abidingâ illegal aliens canât be sent home and said he would decide who got to keep their money and who would have to sacrifice it in the event of a bank failure. Hey John, GO AWAY! We donât need any more imperial presidents.
Fiorina was very good at inserting all her best campaign talking points so they seemed almost organic. Zero-based budgeting for government is still her best idea.
Rubio: ditto. Anyone who can fit his whole stump speech into a debate is really good at articulating. And the last two times around that was good enough to win, so who knows. Heâs still got to work on his triangulation theory of amnesty however.
Trump seemed constrained, as heâs obviously making efforts to come across as more diplomatic. Hint: picking on the girl (Why does she get to keep butting in?) isnât very diplomatic.
Jeb! â receives the award for most improved; butt his best is still, clearly, not good enough.
Carson was low key to the point of vanishing. May not really be ready for prime time until he gets a better grasp on macroeconomics and foreign affairs.
Paul â well at least he finally got an opportunity to talk to us. Too bad he thinks we donât need to strengthen our military. Advice: Rand, stop talking to your Dad. Also not ready for prime time.
Recommended binge watching for Rand
Cruz: Damn, heâs smart! Alfa, great answers, good problem solver, like his tax plan, especially the part about eliminating the IRS. I know he makes some people nervous butt he could use that to our advantage. I just wish he had a deeper voice so he could impress the superficial faction of the public (LoFos of all ilk, Democrats, and the GOPe).
âYou have enemies? Good. It means youâve stood up for something, sometime in your life.â
- Sir Winston Churchill
And Iâd like to take this opportunity on this Veteranâs Day to thank each and every one of our veterans for their service to our great country.
The price of greatness is responsibility. â Sir Winston Churchill

I know the candidates and I know my vote.
Why does this writer use butt? It’s but. Unless the writer has some sort of weird obsession......
It’s a satire site. Look at the source’s name.
“Kasich lectured us on why ââ¬Ålaw abidingââ¬Â illegal aliens canââ¬â¢t be sent home and said he would decide who got to keep their money and who would have to sacrifice it in the event of a bank failure. Hey John, GO AWAY! We donââ¬â¢t need any more imperial presidents.”
BTW, as Trump noted last night, we did this starting in 1954 (in “Operation Wetback” - yes, that was actually the name - PC didn’t exist back then and people spoke their minds). https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2015/08/jeb-orielly-unaware-of-ike-on-immigration Note that while 130,000 were actually caught and deported over several months from California through Texas, some 1 -1.2 million SELF-DEPORTED, fearing arrest. Oh, and THIS is a very delicious irony: Prescott Bush, Jeb’s grandfather, a leading senator and friend/ally of Ike’s, didn’t lift a finger to oppose it.
Both Kasich and Jeb KNOW that we could do it if we put some effort into it over a couple of years, they just don’t WANT to because it’d upset their supporters (and wife, in Jeb’s case). But because they can’t be seen to be supporting a policy that comports 100% with what their biggest donors want, they have to be disingenuous (a fancy word meaning “lie like a rug”) about it not being possible. Ditto on building a fence “not being possible” that we all hear every once in a while - BS, if over 70 years ago we put 16 million men in uniform, produced more military equipment than the rest of the world combined and beat the Germans and Japanese in 3 1/2 years, and if we landed men on the Moon 6 times starting 46 years ago, then we can build a freaking wall.
Fiorina was her usual, hyper-annoying self. I would agree that zero-based budgeting is a very good idea. Maybe the Donald can put her in charge of OMB (after buying her a custom-made muzzle).
Trump - OK, debates are not his strong suit, but his supporters don’t much care - it means that he hasn’t done this nonsense much, which in turn means that he’s not your typical pol. Didn’t score many points criticizing iCarly’s penchant for hogging the podium. I like the guy a lot, but he needs to smile a bit more and let stuff roll off of his back sometimes.
Paul showed what a naive rube he is with his comments on national defense. It is a far cry from having so much power that no one will mess with you or your allies on the one hand, and intervening in every civil war or border spat in every $hithole excuse for a nation on the planet. Yeah, it is great to not have debt, or not go further into debt, but without a proper national defense your prosperity gets taken away, or moved to a distant second on your priority list. Think back to 9/11 or (since it is Veterans Day) Pearl Harbour - who cared that much about the economy on those days?
Rubio is a good debater, and did make some good points about national defense. But he’s actually accomplished WHAT, exactly? Also, his prior behavior on immigration leaves me in the “I don’t trust this guy as far as I can throw an aircraft carrier” mode of thinking.
Cruz - yup, he did very well. Must have it in for the Commerce Dept. though, he eliminated it twice...or else he understands that it is vampiric like many government entities, and you have to kill it twice just to be sure.
