Just pre ordered the new Enya album. As a part of the pre order you get 2 songs off the release. The songs are titled "Echoes In Rain" and "So I Could Find My Way". If these 2 songs are any indication of the way the rest of the album is, Enya should be able to purchase a few more castles in the near future. The first song "Echoes In Rain" is a bright strident tune with Enya's trademark sound- deeply layered voice and instrument tracks with hints of both classical and ecclesiastic music. But more than that, this is a song of joyful, unwavering Christian PRAISE! The songs refrain is a resounding and upbeat "alleluia!" over and over. I'm a big burly manly He-man , but I am totally unashamed to say this song brought a tear to my eye. It is unapologetically both happy and reverent at the same time. And don't put the kleenex away just yet. "So I Can Find My Way" is a heartfelt"thank you" to ones parents on much the same level as Josh Groban's equally lachrymose "You Raise Me Up". Good stuff. Enya on average puts albums out only every 5 to 7 years. But if she keeps putting out stuff like this, it's worth the wait. I of course welcome your thoughts and comments
Give a listen to Eva Cassidy. She’s no longer with us, died young of cancer, but THAT woman had the voice of an angel.
Listen and you’ll see what I mean! :)
Love Enya ..... thanks for the heads up.
Vinyl is for those that love Rice Krispies.
(Snap, Crackle, and Pop)
Me too. A good Christian song of happiness and praise.

Thanks for posting. I’ve always liked her music and wondered if she would do another album.
From what I’ve read artists can’t make money these days unless they tour and Enya doesn’t tour. Perhaps her fans are different and they’ll buy the songs anyway in spite of them being free on the Internet. Echos in the Rain has over 1 million views in a month. Not bad.
Wow thank you very much for introducing her to me. I have never heard of her. No doubt she has a voice of an Angel. However, both Enya and Eva are slight difference. Enya is more celtic and ethereal unlike Eva yes it is too ethereal but with strength and emotions, and she did various type of music from Jazz, Bues, etc. Right now I’m listening to Eva “Fields of Gold” - Amazing.
Eva Cassidy’s “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” is beyond spellbinding with an arrangement that is personal & emotional considering her impending death from cancer.

My friend, Steve Hoffman, remastered her “Songbird” album for vinyl after we both heard it for the first time at my LA audio dealer. Steve’s version is easily the highest quality.
She owned Fields of Gold. I think even Sting acknowledged that.
Hurray! :)
I thought the track was âOnly Timeâ
...
It was Only Time.
The first time I heard Enya on the radio it stopped me cold. It was an immediate âwow, what is that?â response. I then didnât hear it for a while and out of the blue about a week later managed to watch the video for âOrinoco Flow (sail away)â. I was transfixed. That was â87 or â88 I think and Iâve been hooked ever since. She is the One artist that I can honestly say that Iâve liked everything sheâs put out.

Same here. I used to leave VH1 on in the background. That’s the first time I heard Orinoco Flow. It really got my attention and a beautiful video, too. Underneath her dress Enya was standing on a box.

In a way it’s a loose variation of Orinoco Flow and some of her other songs. I think of it as working from a musical palette and I think most fans are happy with that. Listen to the end of the song. It finishes with a background vocal just like Orinoco Flow.
It’s funny, I like just about all of her songs, but most I have to listen to a few times before I really like them. Echoes in Rain is like that.
What’s a Enya?...\s
“So I Can Find My Way” is a heartfelt”thank you” to ones parents
....
It can be taken that way, but as I try to remember some of her interviews I read many years ago, I’m going to say it’s about her grandparents. They died shortly before she became famous and she was very close to them and missed them a lot. She said she dreamed about them frequently and that’s reflected in the lyrics.
LOL, I’ve never heard that before!

Just for fun, did you know her last name, although spelled in the Gaelic manner is pronounced “Brennan”? Yes, that’s right- “Enya Brennan”. Actually “Eithne” is how Her first name is spelled.
