GOP candidates face a firing squad manned by leftist journalists
The Republican presidential candidatesâ debate on CNBC wasnât so much a debate as it was a firing squad manned by left-leaning journalists.
Over and over journalistic equivalents of, âWhen did you stop beating your wife?â were asked of the candidates.
The reporter-moderators werenât just asking questions: they were prosecuting the candidates at a televised show trial. Personal attacks were disguised as questions. (Here is a transcript of the at times boisterous 10-way main debate, along with a transcript of the four-way undercard debate that preceded it.)
I think in 120 seconds....Cruz destroyed CNBC’s credibility. But it fortells the potential destruction possible if Cruz makes it to October of 2016 as the Republican choice, and has to face Hillary.
Cruz might just sit there...grin, and say he’ll let her pick the moderators completely. Then as they lay into him....he’ll step aside of Hillary and destroy the moderators instead of her.....pointing them as ‘5th-grader pretender thugs helping poor Ms Clinton out’.
This was his show....he took the moderators down, and didn’t even build up a sweat.
All of these so called “debates” are a complete waste of time. Merely a rediclous bull session which tells us nothing about the candidates. I have watched my last.
That is a pretty good analogy.
The “moderators” at RNC debates are prosecutors.
The “moderators” at DNC debates are defense attorneys.
But they are never moderators.
According to a survey of media done in 2004, it was determined that almost 90% of media professionals voted for John Kerry that year.
Just recently, Joe from morning Joe also said that 9 out of 10 people in the media support Democrats. I think the idea that there is media bias is getting out there in the world.
Of course liberals see nothing wrong with the format and questions of the CNBC debate. How would they like to see a Democrat debate moderated by the likes of Mark Levin, Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Krauthammer, and answer some pointed questions put to them? Mark Levin would ask some great pointed questions I’m sure. I wonder how the liberals would feel about such a “debate” if Hillary were put on the spot.
Trump’s put down of moderator Becky was memorable.
I think the establishment Republicans set this one up because they thought that their “nice” candidates would hold up better than the conservatives shooting off their mouths. Boy they were wrong. Conservatives are itching for a fight and want to elect a fighter.
Fox Business channel won’t be any kinder.
Well I don’t have a teevee, so I read the transcripts.
Seems to me the “undercard” debate questions had substance.
And Jindal got applause.
Cue the “Get me a slurpee, Bobby” comments in 3...2...
The moderators last names should have been Vishinsky, Yezhov, and Yagoda.
