Republicans Would Rather Lose Than Help Conservatives
Erick On The Radio ^ | 10/19/2015 | Erick Erickson

Time and time again we see Republican leaders berate conservatives for allegedly taking their football and going home after a loss only to see those very same leaders be the ones who actually do leave the field. It is happening again in Kentucky where the prospect of a Matt Bevin win has so terrified the Republican Establishment, they are fleeing the state so a Democrat can win.

I have been beating the drum for Matt Bevin for a few weeks. I did not want to indict the Republican Governors Association because from numerous people I heard they were just prodding Matt Bevin to spend his own money. But here at the end, it appears certain Republicans in Washington would rather lose Kentucky than see conservatives win. Multiple people close to the RGA and close to the Kentucky GOP tell me the RGA has turned its nose up at Kentucky even though it is widely considered winnable.

This piece from Nathan L. Gonzales at Roll Call is damning. Get a load of this line:

“ He hasn’t built much of a rapport with sitting governors who could influence the RGA’s involvement in the race. And Bevin continues to struggle with the local GOP establishment after challenging Mitch McConnell in last year’s Senate primary.

Got that? Matt Bevin, the freaking nominee, has not blown smoke up enough Republican butts for them to help him because, woe as me, Bevin dared challenge Mitch McConnell.

On election day last year, when it was obvious McConnell was going to win, I manned up and contributed more than $200.00 to his campaign. Here at RedState, I had spent more than year pushing Matt Bevin as a viable and needed alternative to McConnell, but my side lost and I was willing to support McConnell.

But the Republican leaders think uniting is only something the grassroots have to do.

From Charlie Crist to Arlen Specter to Joe Schwartz to Wayne Gilcrist to Dede Scozzafava to Bob Bennett to Dick Lugar to Mike Castle, etc., etc., etc. it is the Republican establishment and their candidates who take their footballs and run left when they cannot win or get beaten by conservatives.

It is happening in Kentucky again. Republican leaders would rather let the Democrats win than let conservatives win. They would rather a man who refused to defend Christians in Kentucky win than a Christian businessman. They would rather the left than the right.

More from Rollcall:

“ In the end, Obama’s terrible job approval rating in the state could hand Bevin the governorship in spite of himself. But the president’s unpopularity isn’t exactly an October surprise. It’s been a constant factor for years. A Bevin win wouldn’t be surprising, but calling the race a pure Tossup doesn’t exactly fit the Republican’s challenge in the homestretch

Erick Erickson is a pathetic little Establishment Quisling. He has zero credibility.

As I have long suspected, the Republican Party has been well and truly infiltrated by the RATs.

That is a broad statement. If you are referring to the Primary Elections you have a point.

In the General, you support the Republican or you support the Democrat by not supporting the Republican. There are no third choices.

Civics 101 and the electoral system the Founders created proves that we have as many choices as that system allows for.

That you limit your vote to two evils is all our problem. You can say we have two choices. That is a false statement on it’s face. We have more. You CHOOSE to not vote for them. So you don’t get to complain when your liberal Republicans do what they are doing.

Oh you ‘can’. Good luck with that.

Most of the Conway attack ads have been recycled for McConnell’s Senate campaign.

So not only is the GOPe abandoning their operative, they’ve also supplied the opposition with lethal ammunition.

Sounds like the Benghazi operation.

Word is, they did give him ad money, but he wasn't spending what he raised on his own, so they stopped, in an effort to get him to dip into his own campaign chest.

I don't know how true that is, but it's at least possible.

Don’t be confused about what I Posted. I did not make a “false statement”.

When it comes down to the General Election, either the Democrat or the Republican will win. That is why the Primary Election is so important and that is where the choice are made.

In the General Election if you don’t Vote, you give the Democrat a Gift. Vote third Party, ditto. The outcome is certain. Howl at the Moon and you will get the same result.

>>>You CHOOSE to not vote for them. So you don’t get to complain when your liberal Republicans do what they are doing<<<

If you chose one of two Options I just listed, you can’t complain about what anyone does in Office, Democrat or Republican.

But it is a false statement because it’s a false choice in the real world of elections. If you can post a single American ballot for a presedential/house/Senate with only two choices on it I will retract.

In your mind and the minds of many, there are indeed two choices. Thus you elect our problems. In reality there are other choices, including a line for write in. If people took those choices we would not have Uniparty governance. The math is solid.

Some conservatives get perturbed when we label the RINOs as Trotskyites, communists, crony communists, etc., but all you have to do is read about it, and observe their actions. Political Science curricula generally produce a small variety of communist wannabees, each modeled after one or more models that have previously plagued human civilization, all designed to achieve total communist control of populations, with slightly differing methods.

Most of our professional politicians started with Political Science prior to law school, and people are shocked when their actions produce further ratcheting into the totalitarian abyss. Pay attention to their actions, not their words.

Cultural hegemony

The Communist intellectual Antonio Gramsci (1891–1937) developed the theory of cultural hegemony to further the establishment of a working-class worldview. In Marxist philosophy, the term cultural hegemony describes the domination of a culturally diverse society by the ruling class, who manipulate the culture of that society — the beliefs, explanations, perceptions, values, and mores — so that their ruling-class worldview becomes the worldview that is imposed and accepted as the cultural norm; as the universally valid dominant ideology that justifies the social, political, and economic status quo as natural, inevitable, perpetual and beneficial for everyone, rather than as artificial social constructs that benefit only the ruling class.[1][2]

In philosophy and in sociology, the term cultural hegemony has denotations and connotations derived from the Ancient Greek word ἡγεμονία hegemonia indicating "leadership" and "rule". Hegemony is the geopolitical method of indirect imperial dominance, with which the hegemon (leader state) rules subordinate states, by the threat of intervention, an implied means of power, rather than by direct military force, that is, invasion, occupation, and annexation).[3]

And now that Biden is in, if the rats nominate Biden instead of Hillary, there will be disgruntled women that cross over.

And if either Biden or Sanders win the popular vote but Hillary wins because the SuperDelegates have been fixed, then there may be a LOT of disgruntled Democrats.

You did not read what I said or you purposely ignored it.

I said either a Democrat or Republican will win an Election.

I am not including Vermont in that statement, they love Bernie no matter what Party he represents, Socialist, Communist, Nazi, makes no difference to the Brain Dead Liberals living there. Exceptions to the Rule.

You can have 100 3rd Party Candidates on a General Election Ballot, but there will be no Winner amongst them. A wasted Vote is all you are left with.

BTW Norm, I wasted my Vote on Perot in 1992. Dumbest Vote I ever Cast. Living in CA it made no difference because Clinton had it in the bag, but I still regret it Decades later.

This conversation is going nowhere, but thanks anyway.

It’s going nowhere because you refuse to address reality. Bernie sanders is neither Dem nor Pub. He got elected. Many Indys have been elected.

It doesent matter what hypothetical box you come up with. On real world ballots, there are choices. If a dem or Pub gets elected and destroys America it’s because voters chose to destroy America through liberalism. They could have chosen, like many to elect an Indy, a conservative etc. And as history shows us that such have in fact been elected in the past and currently govern in DC today, it can be done. Thus the idea that there is only Dem or GOP is a false statement, multiply disproven liberal/GOP propaganda and a false choice. Period.
