Many years ago we heard a lot about a silent majority. What is it? It is an unspecified, large number of people in our country who do not express their opinions publicly and do not take part in public discourse. Richard Nixon first popularized the phrase in presidential politics because he, along with others, saw this group of middle Americans and common people being overshadowed by the biased news media and more vocal, liberal minority with their paid for political leaders.
I believe we are witnessing a major bipartisan revolt and uprising of the American people in progress. It sure appears to me that the rank and file, ordinary Americans, are expressing a resounding “NO MORE” to the media and the Washington insiders who are a part of and who promote the status quo. Many poll results are a reflection of the large silent majority, no longer willing to remain silent when it comes to China, Mexico, Japan and others taking American jobs from men and women of this country.
They reflect Americans fed up with people of foreign nations entering our country illegally and being allowed to stay and feed off the American taxpayer; fed up with attempts to take our guns; fed up with attempts to dictate what may be said because it is politically correct; fed up with downgrading and weakening our military defenses in the face of a Muslim world which is trying to destroy us; fed up with treating war veterans as 3rd class citizens; fed up with the IRS run amok; fed up with our government financially bankrupting us; fed up with the Federal government supporting those who attack our local police and most importantly, fed up with the Federal Government controlling our lives and destroying...

Meh. The “historic election” may have spooked them, but they’re still in power and still pulling off their BS. Putin is scaring them more than the Right is. The best we’ve managed is Boehner _talking_ about leaving. Beyond that, they’re openly preparing the sociopolitical stage for real gun control laws (backed up by real guns), criminalized basic views on reproduction, are about to vastly expand the debt, practically gave Iran “the bomb”, alienated our friends, encouraged mass invasions throughout the Western world, and are protecting the vivisection & sale of children.
And here we sit wondering if our official POTUS is going to move out come 1/20/17.

Ya think? Maybe we should just cancel the whole GD election to make sure nothing happens!

Liberals are still upset that government isn’t doing enough for “fairness”, isn’t jailing those who speak against homoism, isn’t inviting in enough foreigners, isn’t cracking down on and jailing climate change deniers and owebama bashers.
How many on FR think the next election will make much difference? Sure most of us will vote, but after last election’s “landslide” going freaking nowhere, we’re down to rallying around ... Donald Trump?

The election hasn't happened yet. Of course they're still in power and conducting business as usual. Ya think the 2014 big Republican victories meant anything? It's the same GD entrenched insiders running this leaderless lawless show. It was a sham, a fraud, you got hoodwinked thinking they were going to do anything. Some of us knew better. This pattern has been inordinately clear for decades.
And whether you like it or not, this is the most historic election in modern American history. The majority of Americans have been waiting for someone like Trump for many years and this guy can't be bought off by the pre-paid sultans of sham and captains of corruption.
All one has to do is look at exactly who Trump's enemies are. For anyone paying attention and not drooling in cups, it tells the entire story.

The people are so disgusted, frustrated and ignored, they have let their emotions override their reason. Even here on Free Republic where reasoned folks discussed the issues, some have morphed into Liberal-like, slogan chanting anything but what we have Trump supporters.
Look again - he is a bragging, ill-informed narcissist who will use any issue to stoke the anger. He is not a Conservative nor a Republican or a Democrat. He is for Trump and Trump only and is playing peoples emotions like a violin.
Reminds me of the old westerns when the “people” came, torches in hand to lynch the bad guy in the jail.

But therein lies the problem. Suppose Congress goes completely bonkers and passes some sort of gun-confiscation scheme, and further suppose 3/4 of the states approve it - then what?
Which of those fearless congress-critters is going to lead the ‘stack’ into Redneck Willy’s house at oh-three-hundred hours with Willy waiting patiently for a chance to rid the country of one more liberal carpetbagger? Let’s see: we have 535 (more or less) elected scum-bags in federal office now. I think that somewhat less than one of those would be volunteering for the task, so the total number of those high-profile swat raids would probably be about -— ZERO!
Similar results could be expected from most (if not all) police departments in the country. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, cops aren’t stupid!
Let’s just say that the Branch Davidian incident was educational for those thinking the gov’t can just inflict a “show of force” and people will instantly submit. And don’t forget 168 died two years later, reminding such atrocities are not easily forgiven/forgotten by the sympathetic. (I’m not defending/advocating anything in either incident, just reminding that such confiscations/confrontations may not end cleanly.) 244 people died because “gun control” enforcers wanted to show they were serious about ... a $200 paperwork tax.

Oh yeah, it would get “interesting” for awhile and quite a few people would beat feet down to the local PD to get off the list of future SWAT raids. That’s what happened in Australia - though now the semi-official line is that there is still about 60% of those e-e-evil guns still hidden.
Here in the land of the fee and home of the slave it’s estimated that there are 350,000,000 guns in private hands. What’s 60% of that? And while we’re talking numbers here, how many Dorners or Rudolphs will it take to paralyze the police agencies in most cities/states?
As almost every blogger or prognosticator has already pointed out, ‘we’re not gonna vote our way out of this.’ It’s going to get interesting and a lot of good people will die but each one of them will leave angry friends and family behind to carry on and there’s more of them than there are statist thugs. It’ll go on for twenty or thirty years but eventually the good guys will win.
