Looks like it may be causing typos, as well.

You might try Seamonkey or Firefox.

Firefox did that to me many times when refusing to allow updates and changed the configuration to allow. in addition, they also had the nerve to delete bookmarks about Google and other google services.

It’s called a walled garden page. Restart your wireless router and open close your browser. Comcast didn’t hack anything the activation page can get stuck if you don’t restart your modem after activation.

Google chrome is a really bad idea.

No way I’d use that software. I don’t even use google to search anymore.

I occasionally have a similar problem, with my own purchased router, and a different cable company. It’s invariably caused by miss typing a url.
