I love that video :)

You and Me, 18 and Poison are my favorites.

BTW, that’s far and away the BEST Home page I’ve seen on here!

You are a Unique FReeper!

I’ve got to get some kind of profile going...

Thanks and yes, you do.

I *love* seeing glimpses into the lives and passions of my FR family.

My page is kind of a flea market, but when I think of something I want to slap up there, I forego the whole tedious rhyme-or-reason approach and just stuff it in wherever it fits.

[it’s not a page so much as a hoard]

:D

Whoa. Excuse me while I get kind of tinfoil hat-ty but if the times are as they seem to be shaping up I think she’s might be elected. A verse about the AC is obscure but says he will have no regard for the desire of women. What if there is a woman president and she gets in bed with the resurrected Ottoman empire but the head of that entity wants to do something that she just can’t go along with. The verse seems to suggest womEN plural but what if it just means he won’t listen to his ally (FP?) because she’s a woman and he doesn’t truly respect a woman leader?

Off the rails I know, sorry :)Every once in awhile I get into an “end times” watcher kick.

‘fetal tissue’

I thought too, that Carly’s response about PP, was very passionate and delivered well. I thought I saw tears...

But, the ‘fetal tissue’ just ruined it for me.

Fact is Carly laid off over 30,000 folks at HP , she is the reason the company had to split itself up.
Carly was not too proud to take a $42 million dollar severance package while she laid off people that kind of money could have kept employed. Carly is responsible for HP being devalued.

Carly ran for office and she couldn’t win, I don’t want her as VP either.

Carly doesn’t appear genuine, and she seemed to know ahead of time the questions, she seemed to have been given a heads up.

When are we going to have an honest debate, where someone isn’t the obvious target.

Do they hate Trump that much?

On Fox this morning some talking head, “Peter” something, said that Carly is the Republican Obama. He also said that Carly and Hillary are exactly alike, being up on wonky issues, but cold and inhuman.

When I saw the look on her face I thought she was worse than Hillary.

Not sure that's even possible, but no doubt Carly is bad. Very bad.

Ted Cruz is Ronald Reagan re-incarnated! Too bad he doesn't know how to present himself. Politics has always been about the "cult of personality" which is a damn shame on the voting populace.

I agree wholeheartedly. Ted is my choice on the issues by far. I just don't believe he can win, and if by some remote chance he did, they would tear him apart.

National Review has been tearing down Trump for months.

Anyone drinking the Karly Kool-Aid needs help.

Can’t stand her. She is overrehearsed, shrill, and obnoxious.

Trump got the better of her tonight.

How well would Karly have done tonight if she had undergone an orchestrated attack like the one Trump endured?

Or without reciting canned, rehearsed lines that may have been prepared in advance with a knowledge of the questions?

She even did the finger pointing and pounding the podium Bill Clinton “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky” style.

I’m not drinking the Karly Kool-Aid.

Anyone that is needs help.

She’s a media creation much like Obama.

Fiorina couldn’t even defeat that nit-wit Boxer in a Republican wave election in 2010, and I’m supposed to believe she will get elected President?

Please.

“On Fox this morning some talking head, “Peter” something, said that Carly is the Republican Obama. He also said that Carly and Hillary are exactly alike, being up on wonky issues, but cold and inhuman.”

Carly is the GOPe VP candidate. She will be the attack dog going after Hillary (assuming Hillary is the Dem nominee). She is the foil to Hillary running using the “war on women” theme that helped beat Romney.

The top of the ticket will be Jeb or Kasich. Trump wasn’t taken out last night by the ganging up of the media and the other candidates but he did show himself vulnerable and he also demonstrated a lack of depth of knowledge about key issues, particularly foreign policy. His current supporters may buy the excuse he doesn’t have time now — I’m running a company” — but it won’t enable him to build on the 25% to 30% support base he has today. As serious undecided GOP voters (and independents who will be voting in GOP primaries in some states) get closer to primary voting days, they will be looking at substance, not just soundbites.

The GOPe realizes Trump cannot be taken out with a single blow. They are going to try the death by 1000 pricks of the knife strategy. He will be under attack from all directions - pundits, media, other candidates, and even Democrats. The common theme will be he doesn’t have the knowledge and intellectual depth to be President. To counter, Trump is going to have to provide more than soundbites. Telling people he’ll hire the Carl Ichan to negotiate with China, hire “competent” people” to fill offices, or issue a position paper in a couple of weeks won’t carry him to the finish line. To win he’s going to have to articulate policies and defend those policies with substance, not soundbites.

Trump’s hard core base of support seems to be 25-30% of GOP voters. To win the nomination he’s going to have to broaden his appeal, particularly as other candidates drop out due to money issues. Jeb and Kasich are in for the long haul, Jeb as the party establishment favorite and Kasich as the backup in the event Jeb can’t turn it around as the field narrows.

The GOPe will not put Carly at the top of the ticket, they know the Democrats and media lapdogs will tear her apart in the general election using the business and political failure theme plus demagoguing her $40+ million golden parachute from HP. Those themes will be deadly if she’s at the top of the ticket, but won’t disqualify the ticket with independent voters if she is in the #2 position.

Trump is far from out but last night he demonstrated he is vulnerable. The pressure on him will only intensify. If the GOPe and media can keep him on defense with a barrage of orchestrated attacks from multiple directions, he will die a death of 1000 cuts. If he can turn the tables and play offense on policy issues he may make it to the finish line.

Trump and his base of supporters have to recognize 30% is not a majority, it is a good start. At 30%, 70% are looking for someone else. Rallies at stadiums and battleships, where Trump repeats the same rambling themes off the top of his head, aren’t going to nearly double the number of Trump supporters.

As to the GOPe, the strategy appears to be killing Trump slowly with a barrage of constant attacks through the fall. It is noteworthy the barrage of anti-Trump attack ads is just about to begin. If Trump can be removed or diminished while several other candidates drop out (Paul, Santorum, Pataki, Christie, Huckabee, Jindal, Huckabee, Graham), the elites will coalesce behind Jeb or Kasich for the top of the ticket. When Trump and his independent source of money are eliminated, the party leaders can winnow the field and move Jeb or Kasich to the front by controlling the money flow and media message. Absent Trump, the GOP race will be all about money and insider support.

I guess I am not alone in thinking that she had advance info on her questions.

Everyone on the stage could have gotten a standing O on the Planned Parenthood comment Carly made, so what is the GOPe going to do about it this week?

“I guess I am not alone in thinking that she had advance info on her questions.”

Carly did seem extremely well prepared. Perhaps she did have a heads up.

It has been clear for some time Obama’s encounters with the media are well orchestrate. Likely he receives questions in advance, the answers are scripted, and he reads the answers on the teleprompter. Even his casual one-on-one conversations with reporters or comedians seem rehearsed.

There were reports yesterday Jeb had a closed meeting with reporters from the major networks recently.

Candy Crowley ganging up with Obama during one of the 2014 debates with Romney also seemed contrived.

The modern press is not engaged in the dispassionate reporting of events. The media empires controlling the major broadcast networks and newspapers have agendas and are active participants in the orchestration of the political process. Those they favor get insider information and kid gloves treatment. Those they oppose are targets for destruction.

Fiorina is not a favorite of the press (witness her run for the Senate) but today she is a useful tool for bringing down Trump. Hence her favorable press and high level of preparation for the debate.
