Is there any limit to Hill's naked power grab?

The French 5th Estate, the press, couldn't understand what all the Watergate fuss was about. "Mais bien sûr, but of course, when a political leader gets into power, the first point of order is to reward one's friends and punish one's enemies, this is as it has always been". They were completely mystified by American political puritanism.

Of course, the French political press had no idea that political payoffs were involved, and this might have made quite a difference. Howard Hughes is alleged to have paid Nixon $100,000, but this fact was unknown at the time.

The great innovation of the present is that, while everyone knows about it, no one is remarking about the sea change in American politics, that a shrewd political operation may succeed in converting the American government to a wholesale shakedown operation on a scale unknown in the West since The Cecil Power ran Britain as an exclusive money proprietorship.

The historical expert on that behind the scenes regime was Bill Clinton's favorite Georgetown professor, Carroll Quigley. It was not in his legendary Tragedy and Hope, but perhaps through his more historically mainstream (but no less explosive) Anglo-American Establishment that Quigley may have translated to Bubba the idea of how a proper governmental shakedown establishment is erected. But in Tragedy & Hope, Quigley did make note of a 1950s congressional study of the power of foundations, you know, they arose to help the ultra-wealthy circumvent the more inconvenient aspects of the Sixteenth Amendment, the 1913 Tax and Federal Reserve acts, which instituted the current system of making the American people sharecroppers of their own fortunes, to be paid at a rate of 40 percent to the secret owners of the Fed.

The French demonstrated that outright fraud and bribery are intolerable even in the highest echelons of power, as with the 2011 conviction of Jacques Chirac. It remains to be seen if the barbarian Yanks will hold to a similar standard.

Perhaps the Donald will have something to say about Hill & Bill if the FBI ever gets around to seizing their Foundation servers.

The Watergate "fuss" was not about rewarding friends and punishing enemies.

On the other hand -- that is exactly what Hussein stated publicly he intended to do.

What the hell has this allegation have do with anything, why didn't the author stick with a more germane example like the French and others not understanding our outrage with Mr. "put some ice on that", because after all it was only sex. Never miss an opportunity to slime a Republican with an allegation.
