Is this Atsugi? I don’t read a whole lot of Nihongo.
They was small guns. Targeting loud speakers blasting propaganda.

from the other thread; this one doesn’t have TV station blurbs covering it.
There’s a nice looking golf course at Atsugi.
Sagamihara .
WHOA! Thanks. BTTT!
Now that would wake you up. So that is three major explosions now in one week ? Two in China and one in Japan. Well the guy doing the WWII 70 years plus historical thread is winding down now. Maybe he can just switch into World War III coverage ? If Asia blows up big, Israel will have all the cover it nerds to take care of Iran.
Me thinks someone has a new space-based laser toy.. Someone who also HATES China as well as Japan. Hmmmmm
Off topic but I spent a number of week-long detachments at Atsugi in the early ‘70s. Beautiful air station, nice locals, great bar scene, and the finest golf course in WestPac. I hope this turns out to be at the magazine and not on station.
We had friends stationed in Japan when Fukushima was damaged during the tsunami. Many of them left on a ship to go TO the area to help out. Some of my friends’ husbands were among the cleanup teams. Many others did not evacuate, although they were given a chance to go.
Thanks for some good history regarding Atsugi. I learned something new.
The explosions that occurred were at a depot where no US military reside and only about 200 people work there. No munitions were stored there, according to the news.
I was told the yokuza were originally korean criminals who took Japanese names.
I asked another Japanese person and they acted like such conversation was not polite.
