Trump really killed it in his press conference today, and did the same at his rally, later. The live threads for both testify to that fact.
Thought I'd check out Donald's Facebook page to see what folks on social media are saying, and the enthusiasm is right over the top. Here are a few examples:

The Great Wall of Trump.
He uses social media to grate advantage.
This is one of the best, in my opinion, and a harbinger of the future:
Huge amount of excitement for Trump. This level of enthusiasm simply doesn’t exist for any of the other candidates. That’s why I can’t actually invision Walker, or Cruz, or anyone else as the nominee— it’ll kill the energy and enthusiasm, and that is what killed Romney. Nobody wanted him. Nobody was excited for him.
It’s time we all swear an oath that if anything interferes with Trump being president (you know what I mean) WE THE PEOPLE will not sit on our asses! Mess with Trump, you mess with the people. So help me, God!
I think Cruz cozying up to Trump is based on the thought that Trump will eventually fall and Cruz will be there to pick up the pieces. If that’s his strategy its a gamble but if he is campaigning for VP, he’s setting his bar low. Trump is an opportunist fraud. Cruz is too good to be his benchwarmer.
I have to say that Trump was truly at his best today.
I don’t think Trump would argue with you about opportunist. America was built by people who saw an opportunity and took it. Fraud, not so much. The man says what he thinks, listens to the smartest, most knowledgeable people he can find (like Jeff Sessions, Art Laffer and Steve Forbes to name a few recently) knows a lot and loves to learn new things. Not bad qualities in a leader. What he thinks may have changed over the years, and if you don’t like something that’s OK. But he’s no fraud.
I trust Trump more than the others because Trump can't be bought and Trump's not a politician.
Politicians are owned by the rich donors.
He’s supported single payer healthcare, assault gun ban, tax hikes on the rich, said Romney was to MEAN on immigration and that it cost him the election (this was Only 3 years ago). He saw a vacuum in the anti establishment candidate category and decided to play the part knowing that his name ID would create an instant boom.
His policies aren’t free market or laissez fair.. I mean he favors tariffs. He is waffly on planned parenthood. His immigration policy is red meat that would take longer than 40 years to implement... The guy is a huckster.

Link?
“grate advantage” lol I think I see what you did there.
Surely you've noticed that Trump and Cruz have a great deal of respect for each other, and that there's an unspoken alliance between their camps.
Do you really believe that Trump is so dense that he wouldn't notice that Cruz is only cozying up to him in order to be the beneficiary of his massive support, should Trump "fall"?
Do you really believe that Cruz is so shallow, that he'd actually cultivate such an obvious political alliance for ulterior motives only?
As far as Trump "falling", there's little chance of that occurring at this point. If he was going to commit some unforced error that would make him radioactive, it would have happened by now. In fact, the opposite is occurring. The more outspoken Trump is, the more he resonates with the American people, who, for the most part, think and talk just like he does, where it comes to the issues of the day.
Trump is an opportunist fraud.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but it seems that a plurality of Republican voters disagree with you. As do I. Most of America has watched Donald Trump for decades, and know who the man is. He's not exactly an unknown quantity. Millions of voters have taken the measure of the man and are convinced that he means what he says, and that he'll do everything in his power to fulfill his promises.
Simply looking at it analytically, there's little reason to doubt him. He's got no more mountains to climb in this life. At his age, and with his wealth, taking on the presidency isn't a step up - it's a terrible, life draining commitment, fraught with all sorts of danger. A commitment that I'm sure he's not taking lightly.
I truly believe he feels duty bound to step up to the plate and take matters into his own hands, since it seems the GOP has not only let us down, but is actually working for the other side.
I watched his press conference and was very impressed with his command presence. He looked and sounded like exactly like a CIC to me, but with a definite Trump flavor.
Loved the way he put the press right in their place. I don't know if I've ever seen a politician handle the press so well.
It was NOT a typo :-)
Yep. Trump and Cruz are the only candidates on our side who've got any sort of real groundswell going.
Unfortunately for Ted, his wave is a bit like water lapping gently on a lake, while Trump's is like one of those tubular monsters you see off the coast of Hawaii.
I honestly don't think any of us have ever seen this sort of enthusiastic response to a presidential candidate in our lives. Even Obama didn't catch fire like this, until well into the 2008 primary. Same for Reagan. Trump is quite literally burning the house down.
Barring some unforeseen circumstance, he's going to be the 45th president.
I'm right there with you!
Geez, dude. Read his book, “Time To Get Tough”. He wrote it in 2011, and it’s a recipe for restoring this country that every Freeper ought to agree with.
