Between 2007 and July 31, 2015 there were reportedly 690 allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse for all categories of UN personnel, according to the UNs own Office of Internal Oversight Services
The United Nations Security Council issued a press statement on August 18th expressing outrage and anger regarding allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse committed by United Nations peacekeepers, including the latest allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse committed in the Central African Republic (CAR). The members of the Security Council had been briefed by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon last week regarding these allegations and the measures he was undertaking to enforce a zero tolerance policy against such conduct by UN peacekeepers.
There have been reportedly at least 11 complaints to date having to do with sexual abuse or sexual exploitation involving members of the UNs peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic. Sadly, this is nothing new. Between 2007 and July 31, 2015 there were reportedly 690 allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse for all categories of UN personnel, according to the UNs own Office of Internal Oversight Services.
The Secretary General told the Security Council during his recent briefing that there was a cancer in our system that is doing grave harm to the lives of the people we are meant to protect and serve. He added that I cannot express strongly enough my distress and shame over reports of sexual exploitation and the abuse of power by UN forces, police or civilian personnel.
Interestingly - the article does not name units or countries responsible for the rapes.
Why might that be?
Was it rape-rape?
Is this part of the Republican War On Wymyn©?
African "Self policing" doesn't seem to work with "peacekeepers" from one third world country in another third world country, no matter how much fairy dust and unicorn urine is used.
Real countries with real leaders don't want to get involved in a lose-lose endeavor, so they contract out the "do-gooding" to avoid the inevitable liberal caterwauling.
But hey, at least they are doing "some thing" to assuage any feelings of guilt.
How else do you think they get troops willing to serve in such God-forsaken places? “All the ***** you want” is one way.
Now we understand why the democrat party is so enamored of the UN. If they molest enough children, they can become an official branch of the NEA, the official pedophilia wing of the DNC.
