Trump's best chance for victory would be as the GOP nominee
From the very beginning of the first GOP presidential debate, Donald Trump was in the spotlight and under fire from Fox News commentators. The first question asked for a show of hands of all candidates who would not pledge to support the Republican presidential nominee. Only Donald Trump raised his hand, which led to the first of many confrontations during the debate. He was challenged by moderator Brett Baier and lambasted by Senator Rand Paul for buying and selling politicians. While Trump declared that he wants to run as the Republican nominee, he is wise to keep his options open.
The Republican establishment is terrified of Trump, who can finance a third party campaign and is independent of special interests. They will continue to mercilessly attack him, hence Trump is smart to maintain leverage and keep open the third party alternative.
It may also provide a needed choice for the American people. If the presidential nominees are Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Jeb Bush, or another RINO, Trump should enter the race to give voters a real alternative. The last thing the country needs is another Bush or Clinton in the White House.
Again, can only speak for myself and those I knew - but every one of us that I knew that voted for Perot would have voted for Bush in Perot’s absence.
What a heartbreak it would be to nominate Cruz only to have him taken down by Trump.
Personally.....I think it's already too late....no "Republican" will ever be President until after the war....a war that has already began....at this time it seems we are in complete denial....soon (I hope) we will wake up and all hell is going to break loose.....
If what I said is NOT true or accurate....then we, as a country, are truly lost....
MHO.....
Unfortunately, it never happened; Republican primary voters are too liberal for Pat Buchanan.
I don’t see anything in Kasich; wonder why a small Republican bloc seems him as a potential nominee.
A Third Bush is still longed for by several million Republican loyalists.
I would only vote for Trump on 3rd party if it was !Yeb! vs. Hitlery....
If it was !Jeb! vs. Sanders and no third party I would be seriously considering voting for the brick on the gas pedal in the car careening over the cliff...
The RNC doesn’t care who wins in a Clinton Bush “matchup” - two sides of a wooden nickel those two.
I would not vote for Trump or Bush under any circumstances.
Particularly since RicknSantorum mentioned the audience was made up of party faithful who couldn’t go to afternoon session because they were in party workshops
Explains a lot doesn’t it?
Would love to expose their little charade.
Stacked the audience and Luntz group. Then hurry up with the anti Trump pundits.
Theybforget about internet and our ability to communicate!
freepers.......grow some brains will ya?...
You figure the die hard Repulicans would vote for Bush or Christie instead of a 3rd Party Trump KNOWING Hillary would win if they do???
Trump is not a Hillary supporter .
I voted Perot...I would have stayed home rather than vote for NWO Bush...
I would have stayed home if Perot had not been on the ticket. He had the election won until someone got to him and he said “The democrats have got their stuff together” and got out. Only to get back at a later date.
I know he hated Bush. And so did I.
No more Bushes, period. No more RINOs. We are not going to demand perfection. That would be stupid. Most of the GOP candidates would be supportable. But not Jeb (who earned his name, whatever he meant by that).
It seems to me that the day is approaching when the country will need to break into two or more parts. If the GOP choice is Jeb, I would rather hasten that day with Hillary and get on with it. That’s just me but I very much doubt I am alone.
Every election cycle I hear of this absolute fear of a third party causing the Republicans to lose the election of their “fair haired boy.”
Well, you idiots who believe that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result (never voting anything but a Republican) are totally responsible for the fact that the Republican party EXPECTS to react the same way each and every time...and you have. Look where it has gotten us!
Eight of those people standing on that stage last night were nothing more than “hand puppets” operated by the Republican RINOe and the establishment. They were no more than “pre-programed” robots spewing forth what their masters expected to hear.
Two people, Ted Cruz and Donald Trump were the only ones to independently offer their solutions to the problems that are causing us to lose our freedoms, liberties and American heritage in total disregard as to what was politically correct and EXPECTED by the Republican establishment.
Go ahead and turn your backs on these two and reap the rewards you so rightly deserve. Later in life, I hope your children curse the day you made your decision to enslave them.
I’VE HAD IT WITH THE REPUBLICAN PARTY and I’VE HAD IT WITH THOSE WHO PEE IN THEIR PANTS WHEN THEY EVEN THINK OF A THIRD PARTY!
When the train arrives to take you in boxcars to your summer camp be sure to wear clean underwear.
jeb! bush is a maggot and will lose with or without Trump or Cruz running as 3rd party. Bank on it.
The third party needs to happen. I just always thought that when it came, a conservative would lead it.
Yes, Clinton actually governed more conservatively than either Bush.
