I thought this might provoke some interesting insights from veterans.
Sun Tzu wrote "The Art of War", many people are familiar with. If you were to add your own proverb or paragraph of wisdom about VietNam to instruct future generations, what would it be? Thank you for your service.
Don’t go half way around the world to fight a war that your own county’s politicians won’t allow you to win.
Do not partake of BAD ROE (Rules of Engagement).
If the military is told that ground forces cannot pull an end around like “Anzio’ or “Inchon” to cut supply lines and/or force the enemy to dedicate forces to “defense”, it is “politics”, not “war”.
In modern mechanized warfare a private with a machine gun can wipe out a whole army of swordsmen and not break a sweat.
