Why Social Issues
Canada Free Press ^ | Ray DiLorenzo

Posted on 07/17/2015 6:33:45 AM PDT by Sean_Anthony

Social issues are the key to either destroying or conserving our nation. Any effort in an attempt to preserve this great country will come to nothing if we do not get our moral house in order

Almost no one wants to talk social issues. The Tea Party, for all their good work, doesn’t want to bring up social issues. The political establishment avoids the conversation as they would a leper colony. Talk social issues in the GOP and you will get a call from Reince Priebus. Ask Donald Trump. People live in fear of being called racist, bigoted, homophobic, or just being perceived as mean.

What few realize is that our form of government, our exceptionalism, if you will, our success, has its genesis in the biblical principles of hard work, self reliance, rule of law and a genuine goodness that comes from a firm belief that God rules in Heaven. “In God we trust,… One nation under God.” Deny it all you want, but our nation was founded and crafted on the Judeo-Christian ethic. Our Constitution, as John Adams said, “…was made only for a religious and moral people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Understood, Sean.

There is no mention in the U.S.Constitution about medicine (abortion) or marriage. The reason why is simple: the power to deal with those belong to the States.

The Constitution lays the foundation for free people to live together, respecting one another and our differences, with few restrictions. A President or candidate (and most importantly, Congress) should follow the Constitution and do the same.

Therapeutic abortion to save a woman’s life most certainly is an accepted part of medical practice. Both Sen.Rick Santorum and Rep.Michele Bachmann have been in the personal position of supporting such abortion.

No one wants to be in the position of having to take another’s life in self-defense of their own, whether it be by a gun or an abortion. Medically necessary abortions can be regulated and performed under strict controls at hospitals which can eliminate the horrible practices, abortion on demand (murder of the unborn), we’ve seen at for-profit clinics.

It was early pro-life protesters who made the serious mistake of picketing hospitals that eventually drove those organizations to exclude doctor panels from making the responsible decisions that kept abortion practices under control.

“Medically necessary abortions”

I doubt there is such a thing
