Pakistani Cardiologist steals $18.2 million from Medicare in just one year

The corrosive connection between donations to the Democrat political machine and one’s profession comes into glaring focus with the revelation that Pakistani American doctor Asad Qamar gave that party a whopping $450,000 while pulling in the highest total of Medicare reimbursements of any U.S. cardiologist. This man received the highest reimbursement of cardiologists all over the U.S. in Medicare reimbursement money during 2012. His practice, located in four Florida counties, is based in Ocala and raked in $18.2 million in one of Medicare’s largest fraud scandals to date.

Whistleblowers started the Doctor’s fall from America’s medical gravy train with legal action involving defrauding the government–read U.S. taxpayers. The lawsuit was joined by the government which suspended Qamar from Medicare participation earlier this Spring. But how come the government’s blind eye was focused-NOT-on this man’s activities going back to 2012? How come internal ethical workers were the ones that outed this Middle Eastern doctor? But what’s the real disgrace centers on these four types of procedures done to unwitting patients that never may have needed such invasive heart surgery in the first place!

“I don’t think there’s any way you can convince me these procedures were needed,” said the highly esteemed Dr. Darren B. Schneider, chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at NY-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Schneider pointed out that he only will perform the type of procedures Qamar did in ONE in TEN patients referred to him. “The doctor gets reimbursed regardless whether it works or not,” he added, as he explained doing an atherectomy. The four code procedures Medicare “allowed” the Pakistani-American doctor to do were: A, vascular scrapes to clear blocked arteries; B, angioplasty and stent installation; C&D, two other procedures done above and below the knee. Politicians want Medicare fraud to continue. All it would take to stop billions in fraud would be setting standards for how much the various types of physicians can bill per quarter. Anything over an established level should trigger an immediate suspension of payments, pending thorough investigation. For payment, Medicare services already must be submitted under a doctor’s unique account number. No reason every bill can’t be totaled continuously. No new data required.

Since this man is a criminal, his assets and bank accounts should be seized, converted or sold off to reimburse the taxpayers he swindled.
He should then be deported back to where he came from.
