Uh-oh… The New York Times notices that ObamaCare is causing insurance rates to soar

So much for your $2500.00 savings.

There have been plenty of stories about the ways in which ObamaCare is driving up healthcare costs. All across the country, we’ve seen double digit insurance rate hikes and soaring premiums. It’s nothing new, and conservatives have been warning that this would be the case since long before the unpopular law was rammed down America’s throat.

However, acknowledgement of ObamaCare’s failure usually comes from either right-leaning news sources, or insurance industry watchdogs. We don’t often get it from the far-left paper of record, The New York Times:

Health insurance companies around the country are seeking rate increases of 20 percent to 40 percent or more, saying their new customers under the Affordable Care Act turned out to be sicker than expected. Federal officials say they are determined to see that the requests are scaled back.

Uh-oh… The New York Times notices that ObamaCare is causing insurance rates to soar.

Don't worry, it'll go into the memory hole after they report it in a perfunctory manner.

Duh. You do not add costs and regulations and expect rates to go down. That is just for starters — 101 class on why it had no chance to reduce rates. It can only transfer the costs to someone else. Even that can’t cover the mess forever.

Federal officials say they are determined to see that the requests are scaled back.

This is a complicated way of saying "price controls" without saying it, which in turn is a way of saying "rationing" without saying it.

The MSM has been strangely silent on this. Props to the NYSlimes for stumbling unto the truth.

It won’t go into the memory hole for the millions of people paying the premiums. this also does not point out that deductibles are going up 50%.

Have the yankees at the NY Times blamed racism and the Confederate flag yet?

Have acquaintances who think that Obamacare is the best thing since sliced bread. They just love that all their “routine wellness” tests are covered at 100 percent and are off to the doctor for something or other at least once a month. When they had to pay for things like this themselves, they rarely went to the doctor and only when they were really sick. But that was “their money” which they were more judicious in spending.

Same thing would happen to car insurance rates if it paid for all the routine maintenance and washes.

Unpopular? Who are the supporters: they seem to rule the country with impunity?

You do not add costs and regulations and expect rates to go down.

It's the same with mandatory auto insurance -- You push demand to maximum while supply stays the same. It's the complete opposite of what would lower the price but I guess the Progressives were absent when ECON 101 covered supply and demand curves.

I suspect this is why the new obamacare class is “sicker” then the companies expected. The obamites are just consuming more healthcare services since it is “free”.

AS PREDICTED
